I wanted to post something insulting on each page but I stayed reserved. Hoping the mods saw the warning flags because this is happened more and more lately.

If I was scammers or malware all over my comp, I'd go onto porn sites. Click one link and three others pop up and one of them blocks your browser and ask for money.

Fucking c****.

Uh mods? We get hacked or something? or targeted by channers or something?

The term 'shockingly inefficient' comes to mind.

On the forum I'm part of, our first action upon seeing posts like this would be to block the IP, not wait half an hour to see if it goes away.

Other terms come to mind as well, but I'll leave them unspoken for now.

Oh c'mon...You know I didn't mean it. Uncle Pipsqueak's just a bit bothered.

C'mon...let's see you smile.

There aren't very many active mods here anymore (only about 1 or 2 at the most, I think?), and also this site's "Tech Team" was disbanded a little while back. So these reasons are probably the reasons why this is happening more and more lately.

I've said it before a few times, but I do genuinely believe this forum would benefit from having a few more additional moderators added to the team.

This situation is also happening on the xbox.com forum, but spam there is getting left for days at a time because no moderator can be bothered to browse the forum and seem to be ignoring reports. I'm not sure which of those two choices is worse.

At least on the Escapist they acknowledge the issue and get rid of the spam pretty quickly.

More mods would be a good idea though and they do need to browse the forum, not only relying on reports to come in.

IP bans are absolutely worthless. Most people have a dynamic IP and so all it would take for them to be back spamming you is to reset their router

All you'll accomplish is to prevent the poor soul who gets that IP next from visiting your forum.

It just seems very... counterproductive. It's advertising, but did anyone even read it really? Would anyone trust someone or a company that advertised this way?

I always wonder who the target audience is, because there must be one or this wouldn't be an ongoing activity for so long, right?!

Is it a problem due to everyone having free pub club? Do new accounts get it too? Because, if I remember correctly, pub club removes the captcha.
