So today is the 30th anniversary of the movie "The Blues Brothers." This is one of my favorite movies and it just drips with Chicago.

So, what are your thoughts on Joliet Jake and Elwood Blues? How will you be celebrating? With a traditional meal of "Four fried chickens and coke" or with "White toast...dry."

I might watch it. Haha!

Have it on VHS. Luckily, I'm one of the last 3 people in the world that still regularly use VCR.

i will not be celebrating as i have never watched this movie
You probably need to watch it then. In fact, I insist. Watch it and appreciate a real classic Dan Aykroyd & John Belushi comedy with some outstanding musical performances.

With my schools 50th anniversary also coming up, Year 8 (My year) Will be having a fancy dress thing with a 1980s theme.

So sadly, considering the rest of my year:

"We're on a mission from God."
"You what?"

I think in honour of the Blues Brothers we should hold a neo Nazi convention with music by the Good Ole Boys. 30 Years? Damn, this movie was 8 years old when I was born and it quickly became one of my favourites as a kid. I'm gonna have to find it and watch it now.

I shall celebrate by reading this thread and reminiscing. I might also watch the movie again tonight if I have time.

I'll watch the movie!

Right after I watch Six String Samurai, Full Metal Jacket, and Blade Runner.

Woah, man. My 80 year-old grandparents have a DVD player...

Did not know that today was anniversary. Where are my sunglasses? Ah, there they are.
I shall celebrate it by getting Russian men drunk, then drop them somewhere to teach them a lesson.

Listen, I have a sizable investment in my video tapes from over the years. Unlike a lot of people, I kept mine in very good condition... plus I have a couple hundred of them, mostly from collecting. I have rare stuff that still isn't even on DVD. And yes, I do have DVDs... and Blu-Ray. Hell, I have Laserdiscs. :p

I've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark out and I'm wearing sunglasses.

I booked a table for all of us at Chez Paul in Sweet Home Chicago. Be sure to bring your wives and daughters....
