Whoa, had to think about that for a second as to who Ryan Dunn was. then I remembered (despite reading the article when he died).

anyway... yeah, kinda not surprised, though I'm scratching my head to find a real reason they should be there (in terms of how he is against their codes) but I know it doesnt matter.

EDIT:
<spoiler=Though everytime they go someone, the WBC shouuld have to run into something like this><youtube=Ra_fAYl4Th4>

I'm not sure we need to add to the on growing list of proof we have that Westboro is devoid of basic human empathy. As abhorrent as it is picketing funerals is what they do since nobody cares about them otherwise.

Picketing a FUNERAL? That's low, even for you, WBC.
Hi and welcome to your time here on Earth. I know you are new here, but I would like to point out a few things about your magic journey called "life." It is a strange journey filled with love and loss, pain and pleasure, heartbreak and euphoria. Just remember that there is no such thing as a free lunch and there is no sex in the champagne room.

/basically you would have to have been born yesterday or lived in a fallout shelter for the past decade to have only heard that the WBC pickets funerals. So welcome to now, my friend. Enjoy internet porn and the KFC doubledown.

I think he fits their code perfectly in that his funeral will be highly publicized, and WBC are all money-grubbing attention whores.

If he was sober and it was a blowout, or something like that. Hell, even if he was just tired, then I will feel REALLY guilty about what I said. I don't want to see anyone hurt. I wish it didn't happen.

If he was drunk I will stick by my comment about not feeling sorry for someone who murdered his friend because he did not have the balls to call a cab.
The toxicology report on Dunn isn't going to be in for a few weeks, but the manager of the bar they were at said he wasn't drunk when they left (noticeably, at least).

OT: I almost feel sorry for the WBC (note: I do not actually, in any way, feel sorry for the WBC), because Bam and the Jackass crew are going to fuck their shit up royally. I think a human feces cannon is the best that they can hope for.

I hope so, I'd love to see a the WBC running scared from men who sit in shit for a living, it'd be quite a funny turn of events.

Another shameless grab at attention? of course, since that seems to be all WBC seem to do these days. What i wonder is why Ryan Dunn? As usual the Church has given conflicting and sporadic accounts of WHY they will attempt the picket Dunn's funeral, but its gotten to an extent that they really don't need one, and are probably only doing this to grasp desperately at some form of attention.

I can't help but wonder why they seem to want to picket Dunn, i think we can all acknowledge that he wasnt exactly a paragon of perfection, but what makes him such a target?

Any thoughts? is anyone seriously surprised?
Their doing it for two reason. One, the reason you stated. For attention. Two, in the very real case that someone decks the hell out of one / all of them, even though they deserve it, they'll sue the Funeral home or the City for it.

Also, for those wondering, yes Ryan Dunn was drunk driving, twice over the legal limit apparently, and speeding as well. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/22/ryan-dunn-drunk-during-crash_n_882422.html

If Dunn *wasn't* drunk, then there is still absolutely no reason for him to have gone driving nearly 120 mph on roads that are regularly windy, hilly, and poorly lit. He basically murdered his friend, and I'm glad Dunn died as well so he couldn't harm anyone else. And if he had still had enough alcohol to think that going fast enough to finally lose control and fly through 40 yards of trees and explode at the end was a good idea, then fuck him and let's hope more people get what they deserve for doing the same thing, with less collateral loss of life.

OT: More WBC? Meh. It's just predictable at this point. I can still hope someone gets hurt, of course, having no love for either group of assholes, but everyone knows what the Westboro business is up to anyway.

Due to the above statement I am gonna do my best to find a means of watching this go down, hopefully on a news 24 channel.

The revenge they will take on them is going to be AWESOME!

Besides wasn't Ryan one of the more reasonable members of the Jackass team?

//Ebert has it right on this one.
Never thought I'd catch myself agreeing with Ebert, but he is right.

It's a double pain in the balls to me, as I didn't watch Jackass, but rather got into Ryan Dunn through the Gumball 3000 Rally, and then he goes and breaks the golden rule, killing himself in the process

The Westboro Baptist Church are the only people who've ever managed to make me sympathise with the KKK, but this is considerably less objectionable than their picketing the funerals of soldiers.

Correct me if I am wrong but in the event that they go to this funeral with the intention of acting like C**ts and upsetting people already emotional from the loss of a loved one, in the likely out come they get attacked and mauled how can they sue anyone?

Unless cops and undertakers run in and start wailing on them its a civil matter between the mourners and the church (weirdest. Statement. Ever.) so I cant see how they will sue anyone.

They can call up some GBH with intent cases but a smart judge will simply call them trolls and throw their cases out for provoked assault.

But as I said, I could be wrong. American law is different from UK law in the fact it works.
Haha.

Pretty sure he doesn't considering that wasn't confirmed, last time I checked. I know he posted pictures I don't think its known how much was drunk, and the police didn't specify anything about that.

OT: Can't imagine the Jackass lot taking too kindly to that.
It was confirmed he was very drunk.

More than twice the legal limit.

Yup, that's very much the proof on stupid court systems in the US. We are the country where someone can walk away from their RV with Cruise Control on, to make food no less, crash, sue the company AND WIN. Even making them add an addendum to their owners manual about not doing so.

Honestly I don't support Westboro. Dont think anyone who isn't a member does.

However this is sort of fitting.

A guy who made his vocation by being/doing stupid and obnoxious things, being sent off by a stupid and obnoxious group does at least seem sort of fitting.
