Hope you guys don't mind if we discuss the wet demo here. Today, i think it was today, the WET demo was released on the xbl marketplace.

I personally found the controls easy, but why the need for non-regeneratable health? And did anyone find it hard to aim outside of slo-mo?
i think it makes a refreshing change to not have regeneratable health. it gets pretty annoying that every fucking game has to have regenerative health.

haven't played the demo yet, but i've been looking forward to this game for a while, so it'll be good to see how it is!

.

its kind of dumb the game only slows down when you are jumping/sliding AND only while shooting. so I often found myself just jump and firing anywhere so the game would slow down so I could aim at my own leisure while and have all the time in the world :/

also you never reload or anything so just spamming bullets to get the game to slow down and then aim is totally viable.

it might be more fun challenging if you got adrenaline for hitting or something and basically had to active time slowing personally.

quicktime events while a bad game mechanic looked cool and it was more challenging than some games because you had to shoot baddies to stay alive inbetween sudden quicktime presses. so was less predictable.

one thing I like is that the character ruby is incredibly sexy whilst still wearing a realistic amount of clothing and is reasonably original compared to many female game characters.

its got a great art style. but gameplay will just be dull after 20 minutes as its just another action game at the end of the day.

answer to topic title:wet demo?why would I want that?if it was a disc, the fact it was wet wouldn't make it work.

answer to actual topic:that is nice, but I'll pass on it for three reasons

1 I'm currently enjoying a new ps3

2 I don't really care about demos on average because it is merely judging games by a very small chunk of the game which usually lasts around 20 minutes, which is worse when considering the 1 hr minimum you spen downloading it

3 I'm just not interested in wet in general

so thank you but no thank you

I am currently googling wet.

Never heard of it.
Ok I just looked and it looks kool.

I own a PC, but have a friend with an xbox. I will urge him to try it.

Why is it called WET though?
Especially is capital letters...?

Why the hell not? =] It refers to wetwork. Word to decribe when you get bloody in a mission.
I called this out as my game of the year at the start of the year. I'd love to be able to say I told you so but last year I called out Mirror's Edge so a bit of a kiss of death.

You spend an hour downloading a demo? That seems like an inordinately long period of time. Sounds like you provider isn't pulling its weight...:p

Anyway, I have nothing else to say about the demo, I already went into that in the previous Wet demo thread.

I played the demo. I wasn't that impressed, to be honest. It looks pretty repetitive, actually. Maybe they could flesh out the game with some more stuff that wasn't shown in the demo though.

I took a good 15-20 minutes downloading one of the free GH3 songs on mine. Probably doesn't help that its only pseudo high-speed though -_-;

The demo looked very cool aesthetically and I liked the action. it was very repetitive , but it was a good mindless beat-em-up. When you go into super-everything-red mode it looks especially stylish. The demo makes me think there are going to be a lot of quick time events, which is annoying, but the car chase sequence wasn't too obtrusive with them. Oh, and I liked the music in the demo, but that's just me.

This demo was insane. Then I played it again and it was slightly less insane.

I get the feeling this game would be less fun the more you played it. Also, how can a guy take fifty bullets to the chest and one sword slash brings him down. The whole fun in having a sword in a game is stringing together a combo that ends in your enemies head being lopped off, not just a quick kill.
That said, I really like the slow motion mechanic, and the double aiming thing was very well done. I also really liked the QOTSA Go With The Flow video ripoff bit, that was pretty awesome.

Overall I liked it but I have a feeling it would get boring after a while.

Ah well, with these connections you only are ever playing for up to the speed you are supposed to get. Think Penny Arcade even did one of their strips about that very topic....

i just played the demo today, and though i thought it was really fun and i liked the style of it, does anybody think it might start to get boring after a while?

I'm always intersted in original games (as in games without a NUMBER on the end!!) so WET I'll have to look into. I liked Stranglehold so I reckon I'm going to have to find another £40 for it after my DiRT 2 fund goes out tomorrow.

really cool, but not a lot of replay value

I am not going to get it, I don't care how awesome it is, I am not paying 60 euro's for something that will entertain me for 10 hours.
