Honestly I hated it, shallow repetitive combat, somewhat enhanced by the Tarantino filter they haphazardly hot-glued to the camera.

I've downloaded the demo, and all I have to say I didn't like it. It was hard to aim whilst not in slow motion because you're constantly moving and sliding all over the place dodging bullets and trying to kill people at the same time. But when you kill someone in slo-mo it is very satisfying to see their head just turn red. It's pulling off the grainy film filter thing like in HoTD:Overkill, which is fair enough, it works well enough.

Also it seems to me that the sword is ridiculously overpowered. OK its a katana and you don't mess with them, but even so an enemy will soak up loads of bullets and not die, or you just slice him 3 times and he's dead. Later in the demo there was that bit where everything went MadWorld and washed out to red, black and white. But that was the only real difference I noticed, the enemies still take a beating before they go down. (Unless you just rely solely on the sword)

I did like the last bit of the demo most though, when you're jumping from car to car via QTEs, trying to gun down the bad guys in vans. This was probably because it was easier to aim than when you are runing around at Mach 10. Anyway as I said, I didn't really care for it, for me the controls were the biggest letdown, they just can't keep up with the pace of the game flow. But don't let my negative analysis put you off at least trying it if you haven't already.
