You Can't really do the battleship thing outside of RTS, it would be to bloody complicated. multiple seperate turrets, little manouvreability. Even if you were just playing a gun crew, it would still get boring after a while. Submarines'd work though, and has anybody done anything with a PT boat?

A common Misconception. Its only the Sub fleet that's gay. XD
Oh, come on! They don't sleep in the same beds at the same time. They at least rotate.
yeah, it's called hotbunking (stop that snickering!!!) where you go to sleep, then wake up and get out of your bed to start your shift just in time for another person who has just finished their shift to crawl into the now vacated but still warm bunk and fall asleep.
Look, I was being serious. No snickering here, see? Well you can't see, I guess, but I'm wearing a completely straight face....
.....
.....
.....I'll show you a hot bunk. *snickersnickersnicker*

Well, technically, the Halo games have you playing as a Naval officer. The Master Chief is of the Navy branch, if you couldn't tell from the rank. Technicality, sure.

If Wind-Waker was any indication of water transportation I'd say leave the navy to PC's and PC gamers. Plus, I could see boarding enemy ships getting very monotonous.

Battlestations:Midway and Battlestations:pacific.

There you go.
Only played the first one and it was good. Pacific is supposed to be good too.
This.

I think you can get the demo for BS: Pacific on XBL.

I am also disappointed... with your spelling. In addition to being ill informed (the USMC is part of the US armed forces, separate from the Navy) ya need to do 6th grade English again.

Look man, we can play punctuation games all day, but at the end of it, this is the damn internet. who cares if english shouldnt have a capital, or that i spelt disappointed wrong. Additionally id like to mention that they are infact, a division of the US navy. More over, the marines also exist in england, also part of the navy. so im sorry, but long cat is long in the same way as you are wrong, unarguably.

Good day sir!

How about the Silent Hunter series? It's got ships, water and stuff.

You can have as much fun as that Belgian dude who went on a 7 day patrol in real time...

The Navy is a bit harder of a sell, ship combat if not in space isnt exactly marketable. Because honestly what would any game about the navy (that doesnt include the seals) wouldnt just be an over glorified version of battle ship? Also navy war fare peeked in WWII, now the aircraft carrier is king.
Why make it a ship battle game, how about we grab the Navy YMCA style? it would make in interesting singing and dancing game don't you think?
why thank you i worked on it all night.

Classic, I like your jokes.

I'm sure it's possible but the organizational issues will be a nightmare. The 21st century is pretty much the age of the Aircraft carrier; which in turn puts it to the Navy's air wing. Sure you got you destroyers and your battleships but how long and how many missions can you come up with that?.

The only thing I see with an air craft carrier is like a new version of Airport Tycoon!

Submarines are a good bet though, like the Silent Hunter games

Because when you got to multiplayer it'd just be idiots spamming In the Navy by Village People over voice-chat.

some of the Games from the medal of honor series have allowed you to play as a a member of the navy. One of the games actually placed you in the pearl harbor attack.
Thats kinda retarded, why would you want to fight a battle you know your going to lose?
The game wasen't meant for its historical accuraccy. 300 planes attacked Pearl Harbor. When I played the game I shot down nearly 400. You would think there would be a plane cap but no.

You think thats it right? Wrong the very next mission in the game is when your stationed at the phillipines (Proably spelt that wrong) and guess what. The Japenesee invade and you lose that fight to.
