Hmm, seems a bit extreme. But hey, whatever rocks your boat. I know how hard it can be to put down the games in favour of more important things. (Un)Luckily I learned the hard way and now I know the harsh reality of not putting the games down to work when I have to.
Still, like all things, gaming in moderation is no problem at all. Only when it becomes an unhealthy addiction do you need to start chastising. If it's become a problem, only play games in the evening, for arguments sake, and get all your work done in the day. that's what I do when I have to. If I'm out with friends in an evening, I don't even play games at all that day. It's called pacing and it works like a charm for me... when I let it work
Cutting it so sharp and suddenly from your life is incredibly risky, even if it's not an addiction. you will just end up replacing it with something else that is non-productive. That and you'll be hit with depression, miserableness, boredom and any other wide range of withdrawal symptoms. So be careful with your 100%-0% cut-off of gaming.
