"They often call me freak, mutant, and heretic. The inquisitor often calls me 'The Delinquent', because of the crimes against the imperium that were commited by the thing inside of me. Long ago, when I was psyker in His name, I was named Kaylen Varras. However, even then I was not known by my name; the officer I served under called me Irish."

*Irish falls to his knees, clutching his temples.*

"Forgive me, I must ask the Emperor for deliverance. The voices...the voices within...they say such terrible things."

Gremlin stood back. The chances of reasonable conversation didn't look good. "Irish it is then" he said, trying to comfort himself over the fact the other party in this debate was kneeling in the middle of a corridor, clutching his temples and trying to block out the fact a demon was talking in his head. The weight of Gremlin's laspistol at his hip suddenly seemed very reassuring as he backed off, calling. "yeah...well, I'll be in the galley if you need me."

OOC: I'd assume the crew would carry a laspistol at the least. Yes? No?

*Galt turns to Rain*

"Heretics they may be, what better way to kill them than to use their very weapons against them? Why waste the power of the Emperor when his foes are all too keen to destroy themselves?"

*Galt leaves the galley, shouldering past Larenxis. He proceeds down the hall to find Irish muttering to himself. He runs over and shoves Gremlin out of the way.*

"What have you done? How long has he been like this? Irish, focus, focus!"

*Galt produces a small relic out of his pocket, a miniscule fragment of the Emperor's armor. Irish's eyes glaze over.*

Gremlin stumbled against a wall as he was pushed, and directed a filthy look at Galt's back, before deciding that was a good way to get shot. He threw a salute. "I don't know how long he's been like this Sir, I found him in the hold. I... the demon was speaking." He shuddered.

*Kalidian watches Galt depart before turning to Rain, keeping his voice low so as to avoid the attention of the Tech-Priest*

"It would seem that our fellow Inquisitor has already made his decision on how to counter these heretics, a wise choice?"

*Kalidian looked questioningly at Rain for a moment, then strode from the galley. Glancing down the corridor he saw Galt and one of the Penal scum gathered around what could only be the daemonhost. Drawing his pistol, Kalidian advanced cautiously toward the group, looming behind Gremlin.*

"You might want to move away, soldier" he said sarcastically.

Gremlin didn't jump. If you jump in a sentinel, you crash into a tree, so the habit dies pretty quickly. Instead he froze, decided that there was a note of cold authority in the voice and he really ought to do what it said. He backed off, throwing another salute, "yessir, moving away sir, be out of your hair in a moment sir". And with that, he turned and ran towards the galley. Two inquisitors and a daemonhost were not his kind of company.

*Galt looks up at Kalidian*

"He got out of the null-chamber. We've got to keep a better watch on this thing. Nothing worse than being in the Warp with one of these things."

*Presses the icon into Irish's brow, a slight hiss escapes his mouth and then fades.*

*Irish cries in pain as the relic touches his skin, and slumps onto the ground. After a few moments, Irish collects himself, and stands on his feet.*

"Forgive me, sirs. I lost focus. These long months exposed to the power of the Immaterium have not done my health any favours. It has almost been as taxing as my experience on Holy Terra. When I was summoned by the High Lords to be a subject for the soul-binding...forgive me again, my lords, I am blathering. With your leave, I shall return to the null-chamber once more. Perhaps a meal could be arranged, as well?"

*Kalidian waits until Irish is out of ear-shot before speaking*

"I still do not like the idea of having that 'thing' on-board, especially with all these weak minded criminals around, a few whispered promises of power is all it could take for 'it' to have them under control."

*7-20 leaves the galley walks up next to the Daemonhost and stares at him intensely*

"Hmph, What use is there of you on this assignment?" he muttered before walking off to join the Inquisitors.

"I don't like him either but damnit, we need all the help we can get. You need to understand that the demons are fickle beings, they'll fight for whoever lies the best. So long as we keep him in the null-chamber, things will go just according to plan. If not, I'm prepared to deal with him."

*Galt gestures to the small bandolier of sanctified bolter rounds on his hip.*

Gremlin huddled down in a corner of the Galley, with his bottle of drink, looking balefully at the techpriest who was staring intently at his sandwich. Inquisitors, Demons.. Nothing was ever simple. Soon as he could get in his Sentinel and start burning an enemy who were definately the enemy, the better.

"I understand the nature of daemons, Inquisitor, they are an evil and malicious enemy. Perhaps you should review the security of the null-chamber, since it appears so easy for the daemonhost to leave it and should you be 'indisposed' when 'it' chooses to strike then I am more than willing to deal with the situation."

*Kalidian holsters then pats his pistol, a clear sign of his intentions*

"Now, with your permission my Lord, I shall take my leave."

*Not waiting for Galts' answer, Kalidian quietly strides off in the direction of the bridge.*

The ship?s chimes alerted everyone that a ?day? had passed and everyone decided it was best to settle in for the night. Galt and Kalidian had pacified the demon host and the rest of the ship had tried to get used to the new routine, even after months in transit, the Warp always throws something new at you. But it was almost over, the ship being only a day?s travel from it?s destination.

However, not everyone was asleep in their bunks. A lone figure crept out into the halls and walked over to bulkhead. The figure drew a bizarre pistol as it loaded several toxic darts into it. ?Why let a bullet make such a mess? These darts are much more civilized? the shadow chuckled to itself.

With the silence of an assassin, the shadow crept along the edge of the hall before arriving at a small hatch to another level. It opened the doorway and slowly ascended the stairwell. The figure continued down the hall until it reached the briefing room. The astropath sat on a small pedestal, his body contorted into the pose of meditation.

The assassin hugged the wall, opening a small pouch, they planted a small device on the wall. Within seconds, an electric pulse shocked the wall and several lights on the console went dark. The camera in the corner went limp. ?Only a few minutes, let?s make it quick? The killer whispered in Phar?s ear.

?Gah! What the hell is this? Argh?I can?t see! The Warp has blinded me!? The astropath fell to the floor with a properly placed kick and within an instant the killer was leaning over him, knife to his neck. The final thing the old man ever heard was the drawing back of the bolt as the dart was fired.

The killer grabbed the limp corpse and drug him to a small vent in the wall. They opened it up and tossed the body inside. A low thump-thump could be heard as it plummeted into the ship?s hold. The shadow reached into their pocket and pulled out a small chart. ?Alright, well we should be just a few months normal-time from the nearest planet, should be safe to drop out now.?

Later, the figure silently crept up the lift into the Navigator?s chamber. The mutated human was drifting in a tank, suspended in a narcotic gas that prevented them from leaving their dream-like state. ?No need for you now.? the killer said as it slid a dart into the mister. Within a few hours, the creature would be dead and the ship would drop back into reality.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When the ship finally did return to normal space, the entire crew was jolted from their sleep. The three Inquisitors stormed into the bridge where Ophelia and Maeror were trying to send out a distress signal.

?What the hell is this?? barked Rain as he placed his gun on Ophelia?s temple. ?What?s happened??
Calmy, she replied, ?It seems we?ve been kicked back into the galaxy, something must have killed off the Navigator.?
?Well then, in the name of the Emperor, get us to a planet as soon as possible. We need to alert Port Maw to a saboteur.? Galt shouted.
?Get off our backs for a minute, go consult that circus freak you?ve got hidden away in the hold.? Maeror soon realized his tone was not appropriate for the Inquisition and quickly returned to his work.
?It won?t speak, it?s decided to toy with us, that damned beast. And it seems that Phar has gone missing.?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alright, you?ve been dropped out of warp and Phar got killed. It looks like no one?s gonna make it to the negotiations either, well only thing to do now is plot a course and decide on whodunnit.

"Are we still transmitting that distress signal?"

*Questioned Kalidian as he leaned over Maeror's shoulder*

Verendus awoke with a start with the sound of the ship leaving the warp. He knew that sound, he'd heard it enough times, but they were way too early. Something was wrong. He quickly located the intercom and called the bridge.
"What in the name of the Emperor is going on up there?! Give me a status report!!" he bellowed. He would be damned if he and his men were going to die on this tub because of some drunkard at the helm.
