OOC: ok, ok, you're right, I'm wrong. Fair play to you sir and kudos for your initiative.

Gremlin paused for a second, then nodded, and lowered his voice. "Uncut throats sound good to me. The way I see it, there are three likely parties to get us killed. The assassin, for obvious reasons, the Inquisitors, for there being more than a three percent chance of being the assassin, and each other cos we're all jumpy and paranoid. We wanna survive, we gotta get rid of the threat from those groups. We need to figure out who the assassin is, and be ready to defend ourselves from accusations for every other quarter. No way this ain't gonna get messy."

"Well, it's clear that he's not been bruised, cut, or shot in any way.
I believe that only the psykers could have done such a thing, but then again, it could be the killer trying to implicate someone else. What do you think guys?"

Gremlin considered for a moment, then called "Well, I dunno. If it was a psyker, they'd have to be pretty controlled not to leave a mark. No marks could still leave several ways to die. Asphixiation, perhaps. Electrocution if it was done properly. Injection if the needle was small enough not to leave a noticable mark. But this wasn't the work of a grunt. They knew what they were doing. It was an assassination, and a very efficient one. We have an assassin on board, talk to him."

"In my experience" said Kalidian slowly, "there are several questions that need answering before accusations are made." Kalidian paused while the gathering quieted down, "Firstly, we should ask who has the most likely reason for killing the Navigator and the only Sanctioned Psyker on board? I believe it is so that their forthcoming actions could remain hidden or at least un-interrupted."

Striding to the other side of the bridge, he continued, "If this is the case then it seems it could only be someone who has a connection to the Warp, the daemonhost? the acolyte? Would anyone else care to throw their thoughts into the mix?" finished Kalidian, with a slight hint of cold sarcasm.

"How exactly am I suspect?" 7-20 said slowly "I, unlike many of my fellow shipmates, am not some fool who would trap himself in an environment which he cannot work his best at, namely a this ship. Besides I am of the Vindicare temple I work at range to eliminate specific targets not close range against a fairly random one. The only thing is the fact I am called an assassin, which is nulled by the fact that I specialize in a completely different field. This would be more suited to the work of the Calldius temple rather than my own.

Gremlin nodded, "Alright. So maybe it wasn't neccessarily you. But you got any thoughts on the method of death? Death being your speciality somewhat."
He turned to Kalidan.
"Good point, but maybe not. I have no love of psykers myself, though I have better things to do than strand myself out here. And that's the key, ain't it? Who would strand themselves in the middle of nowhere on a ship packed with Inquisitors who are on alert? You'd either have to be mad, very clever or somehow above suspicion. Or all three. So who isn't likely to get shot for heresy? Us penal 'scum' aren't that stupid, we always get shot first. The original crew? They clearly don't like us, they have the advantage of not being part of the guard or Inquisition team so aren't monitored as closely, and we're not sure about their background. Seems like a good place to start looking."

*'The Delinquent' stirs in the corner, the various shouting and threats awakening it from it's forced slumber*

"Awwww, how cute. How the man-things cry, Prince. They threaten and posture like the braindead minions of the Blooded Lord. Only the most loyal to you, Lord T, would properly revel in this delicious tension, and the agonizing torment. Were it not for this flesh-prison, I would be able to pay the proper tributes that my Lord deserves!"

"I'm watching you Zen... I know what you're capable of" Lt. Killion growled.

(voting for Zen)

OOC-Hopefully, I'll have enough votes soon to write up a trial scene. Just post a short blurb or something about who you think it the killer.

"By the Emperor, this is taking too long. We need to find that killer and bring him to justice. The evidence seems to point to a toxin administered via a dart. However, the victim was an astropath, how very interesting. Not easy to sneak up on one, but the Warp is able to twist their senses during prolonged exposure."

"I believe I may have under-estimated you, Gremlin, your thoughts are most provoking. Though what motive does the crew have, they are being handsomely rewarded for the use of their ship and us not reaching our destination voids the contract. No, there is a far more insidious traitor amongst us."

O.O.C - I'm betting either Semmek, Pie or Hellspawn.

OOC: It's obviously not 7-20, seeing how the killer called the navigator 'old friend'. Sorry, metagaming.

"I will make sure that the ship is on course. I do not think I am suited to search for any 'evidence'. Perhaps someone could aid me?" Magos Titanica Larenxis stood looking around at the faces of the room. Not really displaying any sense of emotion, except perhaps a dose of unhappiness that everything was not going routinely.

OOC-Actually, thanks for pointing that out, I'd recycled the murder scene from a previous piece of fiction (a Dune fanfic) I wrote and must've missed that. Don't know how you'd relate to a WH40K navigator as friend anyway. Ok, now it's out, just pretend you didn't see that, and we can all go back to being less confused.

"I may not know much, but I sure know one thing, the killer had to be sneaky! My twitchy senses were formed on a waring planet where you had to wake and be alert at the first hint of trouble be it the quite hiss of gas canisters, or the foot steps of an enemy soldier. I believe that the only one capable of such a thing is someone trained, someone familiar with the ship and its passageways. The Assassin is the only one who could have killed the navigator."

"Killion you bastard! Once we're out of this remind me to have you shot!"

Zen walks over to the body and looks around

"Nah it wasnt me.. No signs of a savage beating - I still say its 7-20"

"Quiet you. Go back into your flesh prison, we have no need for you here."

Zen walks over to the Inquisitor (Sorry for making somebody do something else.)

"Why can't we get the demon top tell us? He obviously knows," Zen spoke.

(Ok, I'll stop that now)

"I would agree with you, but the Delinquent would twist truths and lies together. He would enjot watching us kill the righteous."

OOC: Yeah, I'm going with the assassin like before.

"The dregs dare to speak that word! Ha! You cannot begin to grasp what the True Truth is! That knowledge is privy only to the Ruinous Four! They, who know what makes the universe, and what can unmake it! They, who know of the depths of the in and the out! They who will own your souls when the end comes! Fear the will of the Ruinous Powers!!!"

*As soon as mention of the Ruinous Four escape it's lips, the purifying seals that abound the creature's body blaze bright red. By the time the last word of it's damned speech is uttered, the seals are burning white. The Daemon screams, and falls to the floor. The putrid odor of burnt flesh and the scent of ozone fill the bridge.*
