Just saw it, and totally hated it. Plot was schizophrenic and nonsensical, as was the pacing. It jumped between serious and slapstick completely arbitrarily and on more than one occasion when I felt like I was finally getting into it the atmosphere would be totally ruined by ANOTHER tedious one-liner.

I like Robert Downey Jr. and think he is great in the role but oh my goodness the script writer sure went for overkill with the one-liners here. Every single character just seems like a device to set up these mind-numbing jokes.

Loved the other two Iron Man films and almost all of the Marvel stuff so far (with a few exceptions) but this one... christ I just can't get over how little of the plot made any sense. I sat there in the cinema just going: "What?".."Why?"... "When did he?.." and rolling my eyes so much it began to hurt.

And one last thing, *Minor Spoiler* The part where all the suits turned up would have been totally awesome had it not been completely ruined in the trailer.*/Minor Spoiler*

I'm sure it will be a hit however, simply because there are lots of explosions and RDJ says funny things!!! *sigh*
Maybe Shane Black has something to do with the plot nonsense. He's the writer of the Lethal Weapon movies (which I'm very fond of but let's agree how campy and ridiculous they are) and a whole bunch of sensational crap that has never been very, uh, distinguished.

Possibly, though I'm more inclined to blame the co-writer Drew Pearce who has penned such classics as Pacific Rim and, um... How did he get this job again?

The Lethal Weapon Movies are totally charming and at least make some sort of sense. I wouldn't like to think that the writer behind them could so dramatically fail all by himself. It's just his direction that stinks.

Just saw it. It was ok, the plot twist was fucking hilarious but the film relied way to much on cheap jokes. Not regretting going to see it, but I won't watch it again.
