I'm American and I've always been particularly good at impersonating a British accent. Granted, it's not one of the hardest accents to nail down but I've had people tell me I'm very good at it.

I can do a pretty mean British accent(as far as I know, I have only known 1 person from Britain, and I knew him when I was 7 xD), despite never going there myself :p

See, I'm sure that if I said I can do an American accent, all Americans will jump on me demanding I clarify my position, crying: there are loads of American accents!!

By that count: which British accent? Regional or class? (Bear in mind I never really watched Red Dwarf, OP.)

British Isles: RP (think Stephen Fry), East End, Lowland Scottish, Cork Irish & West Country (though this one isn't that good, and I only end up sounding like Hugo Rifkind)
American: New England & Louisiana/Mississippi
Japanese: Kanto (default, so I don't think that really counts)
German: generally southern, I've been told I speak like a Bavarian
French: Marseillier, apparently
I'll be honest: I have no clue which region "my" accent is from. If I was nail it down to a person, maybe Eddie Izzard. I wouldn't have cared which region your American accent is from, but in hindsight it's important to some.

Despite being from the south, I can do a pretty canny Geordie accent.

But then my dad is one.

I can do a good Scottish one, a decent John Wayne, an above average Snagglepuss, and a decent Bill Cosby.
I wish I could do a good Zoidberg one though, Zoidberg is awesome.

i can do an accent if i have ancestors from there. im great at Irish, French, German, and an ok American (Southern, like George W Bush).
Can you do an actual Irish one, or a stupid crappy "Ah tee ta toe ta tah!" leprechaun one.

Nobody here talks like that.

I can do a pretty spiffing Brit accent, but I throw in far too many Irish slang words to pull it off properly.
i can imitate my Irish friends almost perfectly. also, i dont know how the 'leprechaun one' sounds, do you mean like the 'lucky charms' advert leprechaun?

I don't know accents as much as individual people. I assume that I do decent accents for the places that I've heard the accents from, but impressions are more my thing. On that note, I can do a mean Sean Connery, Christopher Watkins, and Nixon, and I've been told I do a few others pretty well, too.

Indian, as in people from India. In case some people mistake it for Aboriginal.

I'm much better at picking out accents than actually doing them.

A common mistake people make when attempting to imitate accents is ignoring the more regional variations. Without saying something like "I can do a good Midlands", "Leeds", or "Mancunian", I'm going to guess most Americans are throwing a hodgepodge mix of various British accents no one person in Britain is likely to have.

It's like if someone said "Ya'll" and "car park" in the same sentence. They're both part of American accents, but nobody really uses both phrases.

Fair enough, though Eddie Izzard has (by English - the place - standards) a weird accent, probably due to having gone around the houses for a bit, though his accent is predominantly middle-English (South East), which is probably the most easily identifiable 'British' accent for foreigners (toff-speak notwithstanding).

Not sure. Can I get audio clips of them??
Y'know... I'm not sure if you're serious there.

OK, youtube the following:

RP: Stephen Fry
West Country: David Prowse
Scouse: Steven Gerrard
Manc: Ryan Giggs (yeah, he's not Welsh)
Geordie: Cheryl (America can keep her) Cole
Brummie: Jasper Carrott

Anything else comes to mind, I'll let you know. -_-

Bah, I'm sorry, for some reason I skipped past that part, assuming it was your post for the accents you can do! D:

Edit: Stephen Fry's accent is the one I do :p

Stereotypical Scotsman. Kind of like Sean Connery.

I can do a marvelous Dixie accent. I also have New Yorker, Chicagoan, Chicago Polish, Liverpool, Birmingham (U.K., not Alabama), Shanghai, and Welsh accents in my repertoire.

I can't do a Texas drawl because I would cut my tongue out if I did.

For accents, I can do an excellent Irish, and I'm told my German is decent. I can also do a near perfect Sean Connery.
