I'm not sure how true your second thing is. The only person I know on welfare and lives in government housing is my cousin and she takes complete advantage of it. She constantly gets pregnant so she'll continuously get child support but she takes horrible care of her children: she's an alcohalic and she smokes in the presence of hre kids. And she's only 26.
I'm not defending assholes that pick on poorer people, I'm just saying that there are 2 sides to everything.

And I actually disagree with Rule Britannia. I don't think the death sentence is carried out enough.
For example:
Richard Ramirez was convicted for dozens of rapes and murders yet he is still alive in San Quentin prison. Marc Dutroux kidnaped children and kept them in his basement where he repeatily raped and then killed them. All he got was life imprisonment. And his wife who knowingly let 2 of the girls starve to death while Marc was in prison for a different offense, was only sentenced to 30 years in prison. David Berkowitz a.k.a the Son of Sam killed several young couples in New York City was sentenced to only life in prison. Ed Kemper ate his victims, which included children, and he is still serving his life sentence.

Short story: Blah blah blah, for various reasons I don't think some criminals get NEAR the sentence they deserve. For me personally, if you kill someone, you should get the death penalty: few to no exceptions.

Damn, this is depressing :/
Well one problem with the death penalty is that it leaves no room for error. If you get life in prison and they end up finding out you're innocent they can still release you. Sure, it's going to suck a lot for the person wrongly convicted, but at least he's not lost everything. If someone's on death row and evidence ends up clearing them you can't do anything to fix it.

OT: Hmm, things that annoy me... now I hate to jump on the atheist bandwagon that the 90% of the internet is currently riding, but I'm going to have to say really religious people. I'm not talking about people who are really passionate about their religion, I'm talking about people who have it consume their lives. I know a couple people who just spew out quotes from the bible nonstop, it's almost like they have absolutely no personality outside of their religion. So yeah, religion's fine as long as there's more to you than just that.

Another thing for me would be people who assume that everyone thinks in the same way they do. Assuming that they want other people to be around them while they're upset, wondering why some people get depressed and can't just enjoy life like they do etc... It's alright if it's just an intitial misconception, but if people keep trying to push it and insist that you should be reacting to the situation just like they would it really gets on my nerves.

I just laugh most things off and ignore people who annoy me, when I get serious about something i've been told i'm downright scary.

I despise people who tear others down to build themselves up. I go straight Hannible Lecter when on the person when that happens.

Also if you ever, ever, say or do something about/to my friends/family when they've done nothing to deserve it I will break you. Insult me all you want but do not fuck with the few people I care about.

Oh, I never meant any threat by what I said. When I said I've very even tempered, I meant it. No need to be worried or feel bad. Hell, I didn't even take it as an insult.

Did I trigger something traumatizing happen to you involving a circumcised penis? Because you are very insistent on convincing me the error of my penis judging ability.
No, you just said something that was completely wrong. Because of my interest in medicine, and the importance I place upon understanding medicine I pounced on it. You said something that was medically false, and you were acting as if it were not. I don't like to see this happening, because if even just one person takes you seriously you have spread misinformation. This is never a good thing, especially when it is about medicine and human health.

I stopped reading after about three sentences because I really, really don't care. I just can't see myself needing this information in the future.
My advice to you would be if you don't care about an issue, don't speak about it. Because when you do, you'll usually be wrong. And you were, without one shadow of a doubt, wrong. I think that's good advice for everyone to follow.

Tdc2182 said:
and then proceed to give me a page and a half worth of deeply investigative penis research.
I did that because you cited a website with outrageous medical claims. If I encouter bogus, outdated medicine, I do my best to shine the torch of reality onto it. I think everyone should do this to issues they are knowledgeable about and care about.

What would your parents say?
They would be proud of me for displaying critical and thoughtful thinking. Of having an understanding of medical research and collective medical knowledge. They would also be proud of me for being optimistic enough to try to inform you of your blatant medical errors.

You on the other hand, are the type of person that clearly ignores worthwhile medicine, who ignores the research and observations of hundreds of medical associations and instead believes seven spurious, poorly written pieces of information on an internet site. You plainly admit that you don't care if you are right or wrong, but you still continue to defend yourself when someone provides more than enough evidence to suggest you are wrong. You are the type of person who should stay as far away from science as possible.

See, I don't really get angry at many things because most of the time I get sad, or disappointed in my fellow man. I guess unbridled hate is so utterly foreign to me, that I'm unable to really comprehend it when I see it. Prejudice such as homophobia or racism are just so difficult for me to comprehend, I pretty much can't comprehend it.

The false criminal conviction of an innocent man. Especially when the cops knew he was probably innocent. And the prosecutor also knew he was probably innocent. Especially if the cops intimidated somebody into falsely testifying against him. Like a child, or a friend. I believe there's no crime worse than convicting an innocent. So hearing about it always kills me a little inside, turns me paranoid. This has to do with things that happened to me as a kid.

Also, the opinion Americans have against criminals. The way most people in my country just assume all convicts are evil people who deserve to rot and die. This is not true. Everybody is capable of committing crime, and everybody can be driven beyond the line. (Basically, pretty much everybody is Harvey Dent waiting to happen.) And some convicts deserve sympathy. So I always get really ticked off when a fellow American spews his usual high horse crap against convicts or talks about how jail conditions should be worse. Or doesn't care that rape occurs in prisons.

Use of the word "fag" [in derision of gays]
Use of the word fag as a derision of gays. I approve of the the 4chan use of -fag as a suffix to indicate a profound love or obsession over a specific thing, e.g. shooterfag, moviefag, motorfag.

The use of gay as a generic derisive for failure, dickery, whatever e.g. You botched that jump. So gay., or Hey, he flipped you off! That was gay, man.

Prejudice against gays, e.g. assuming that all gays are pedophiles and rapists.

Prejudice against bisexuals by gays, assuming they're traitors to the cause. I've had more than one self-proclaimed lesbian girlfriend who couldn't accept she was bi-, because it was regarded as derisive in her community. Some had to hide the fact that I was their partner.

Hate against transgenders. The whole It's a trap! meme reeks of this, despite that it's been reclaimed by pre-op fetishists.

internet atheists who won't shut up about their whiny and poorly thought out beliefs that "THE WORLD WULD BE A BETTER PLAICE WITHOUT RELIGIN" are high on the list
People who use revealed scripture to justify hate or oppression on gays, women, other religions and just about every race on planet Earth.

People who push legislation that breaches the wall of separation implied in the US Constitution. People who push legislation in defiance of the Lemon test [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lemon_test#Lemon_test].

People who use revealed scripture to justify the suppression of scientific truth.

People who use revealed scripture to justify warfare.

Pope Ratzinger reinforcing Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extra_Ecclesiam_nulla_salus], even to include all Protestant faiths.

Christians who don't recognize other Christians as Christian (Evangelist Sects and the Southern Baptist Convention are often guilty of this in regards to everyone else. Members of LDS, Jehovah's Witnesses and Unitarians are often the victims, according to everyone else.)

People who think Satanists, Neopagans, New-Age Spiritualists or other heathen groups should have their children taken from them as if practicing a non-Abrahamic religion automatically makes them bad parents. CPS workers who enforce this supposition.

Muslims who believe Jihad bil Saif [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jehad#Warfare_.28Jihad_bil_Saif.29] is the most noble of all jihads, or that it justifies terrorism (e.g. the mass murder of civilians).

Muslims who fatwa or otherwise threaten artists who they feel have blasphemed Islam, Muhammad or Allah. Heck, anyone who threatens violence on anyone else for self expression or just being who they are.

Ah, welfare and benefits. What a corrupt evil...

...Yes, poor people need help, but welfare is chock full of people who are utterly lazy. This is why so many people are against it...
People, as Jimmy Carter once put it who seem to believe that being poor is easy.

People who believe laziness is a character flaw[footnote]Healthy humans are an active, industrious species and quickly bore in idleness. It is circumstances, whether from within, like malaise, hopelessness or depression, or without such as lack of opportunity and a person's value in our society as consumers and not generators of product, that drives people to inactivity. Even then, many will sooner turn to drugs or crime rather than sit still.[/footnote] rather than symptomatic of a mental disorder, and that they should just be able to magically straighten up and fly right.

More generally, people who say that other people they don't like are stupid, lazy or crazy. And that these adjectives justify treating poorly the targets of their hatred.

People who hate on the disabled, still one of the most ill-recognized minorities across the world.

People who fail to realize the degree to which pure luck was a factor in their own station of abundance, and that same luck was as significant a factor in putting those fighting scarcity in their misfortunate lot as well. Rich people who insist we make our own luck as if they actually willed theirs from the void like a god.

People who still think, in this age of post-modern civilization that public corrections is intended to exact vengeance. People who believe that the state has a responsibility to exact vengeance as part of administering justice. (It doesn't. Containment and rehabilitation are its goals.)

People who believe that a conviction guarantees certainty of guilt. It doesn't [http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/innocence-list-those-freed-death-row].

People who presume child sexual predation [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedophilia]. (It doesn't.)

People who equate sexting between minor peers to the production and distribution of child pornography.

People who presume a child's sexuality magically aligns with the legal age of consent.

People who presume that Just say no will be more effective at stopping sexual activity among minors than it was in stopping recreational drug use among minors. In other words, people who believe that abstenence-only education will actually stop kids from having sex. (It doesn't, but it increases the transmission of STIs and elevates rates of teen-pregnancy).

The word "****." Either being called, or hearing someone refer to someone as such.

RAGE.

Edit: Although I don't hate Yahtzee for his gratuitous use of it. I still eagerly await his next review although there is a good 63% chance of a C word storm.

Doesn't really irritate me but people in cars (exclusively young males) who slow the car down besides me as a I walk, yell out an insult and then speed of laughing. Why? Just yelling out "****" is not really going to hurt me and then speeding of makes it seem even worse. What do people get out fo it?

Also people who seem to care to much about anything. Like being needlessly precious over it.

i hate people who think democracy is stupid. also linked to the first idea i hate people who say that 90% of everyone is stupid. i believe everyone has an equal intellect but some intellects are balanced more toward the academic which leads these people to think that yet are all that and no-one else should get a say in anything because they aren't as smart.

TL;DR
almost everyone who posted on the controversial opinion thread.

I've been hit on a few times by guys in passing cars, but not insulted. I think I would be fuming for the rest of the day. Which might be what they're going for, actually. Insulting you then driving off means they got the "last" word. Makes them feel more manly, perhaps?

People who actually scorn others for having different beliefs.

People who troll by scorning someone's beliefs.

Seriously, believing or not believing something doesn't make you a worse person.
