What anime are you watching and what do you think so far?

Log Horizon Season 2
Anime about being stuck in a database video game.

Studio Deen is really screwing this one up. I don't know why I'm surprised honestly. I loved S1 but basically nothing is happening this season. They also made Akatsuki's hair look weird in some places. I know that's incredibly pedantic, but it drives me crazy.

Gugure! Kokkuri-san
Little girl with no emotions summons a wolf ghost who haunts here. It's a comedy.

I'd say this one was surprisingly funny. The humor is pretty low brow, it won't be winning show of the year or anything; hell, I'm remiss to even recommend it. But it has some pretty good gags and hey, at least I laughed.

Amagi Brilliant Park
I'm a pretty big Kyoto animation fan, so I'm happy to see their return after Free! which, try as I might, I just couldn't enjoy. This show is basically about a guy who has to run an amusement park. However, the amusement park is pretty much a conduit for all these magical fairies (which are park mascots) to live. If they don't get the energy from people having fun in their park they die off. The MC has to turn it around.

From the same writer as full metal panic (and with an obvious nod to said series) and KyoAni helming the direction and animation it's probably my favourite show I'm watching this season. It's fun, skirts some of the more conventional anime tropes, has some clever and funny writing ans is just pretty enjoyable to watch.

Tribe Cool Crew
This was my biggest surprise this season. It's basically a children's show about street dancing. However, being a long time raver and heavily into dance culture I really connected with this show. I love dancing. This show loves dancing. We're made for eachother.

Honestly, it's kind of bad. The CG dance scenes aren't great, the music is repetitive, everything is pretty simple but hey, it's my list :p

Now do you!

One Piece. I've effectively dropped everything else and have just spent all of my time watching One Piece. Cause I love it and am power-watching to reach the part when Franky shows up.

Either way, I'm at episode 104 now. There is no turning back for me. The plot points they haven't mentioned much, but I've googled has lead me to crave answers.

Edit: Should also add, that after this I plan on getting caught up on Fairy Tail, watching all of Bleach, and Naruto. I've been on a Shonen binge of late.

Recently I've been rewatching Ghost Stories because someone at my collage's anime club played one of the episodes while I was there and then I just HAD to rewatch the whole thing.

I've also been watching Bridy, the mighty: Decode, Strike Witches, Rosario Vampire and Trigun recently, because I have a wide taste in classy and classless anime.

I have a few at the moment:

I am watching a couple anime series with my friends. Started Evangalion with one but we are still stuck in the early episodes due to never remembering to watch it, so I don't have much to say about it since I really have not watched much at all but looks pretty interesting, and I'm watching Kill la Kill again with another friend who is watching it for the first time. We watch about 2 episodes a week and I have been really enjoying watching it again with someone else to talk to about it as events happen.

I'm watching Akame ga Kill simply because I can basically just watch it whilst eating or whatever and not think too much about what's going on. I personally think it's alright, and I like (some) of the characters enough for me to want to see what happens.

Also, Space Dandy is one I am watching sporadically simply because there is no overarching story, well not much of one, so I can enjoy an episode randomly from time to time.

There are a few others I want to start getting into as well, mainly Steins Gate as I hear it's supposed to be very good and Ergo Proxy as yet another friend of mine is currently finishing it off and says it's really good.

I think that's all of them, I still have many others to try too.

Bobobo-bo-bobobo Is pretty good as one of those odd ball animes.

Is this a Zombie is pretty funny as far as those harem comedy's go.

Rwby by Roosterteeth is alright, I'd scarcely call it well written, because it isn't, but it's action and laughs are all well and good, just take it with a pinch of salt with regards to the character and plot writing aspects.

Haven't been too engaged by any of the more serious animes lately though, I should perhaps remedy that, does anyone have any suggestions? :)

Just finished Log Horizon season 2. I really love it, especially since I can skip to the parts I personally find uninteresting. No actual main villain, just a living breathing world that comes with enough problems on it's own. And I think it has a pretty good balance between story and combat for more low-paced anime.

Ace of Diamond. Still following it, as it isn't finished yet. I have to say, I never thought I'd like a sports anime, but I really like this one. A bit too much sports drama for my liking, but the rest makes up for it.

Recently also re-watched most of hunter x hunter. You can really tell that a lot of work was put into the animation and choreography for the fights, even if I've seen better. At least there aren't that much 'invisible punches' like in DBZ.

I just finished Samurai Flamenco, what a good goddamn show. It starts off as kick-ass for sentai, then promptly loses its goddamn mind. (Like, a JoJo level of 'loses its mind'!) When I finished, and the explanation plot-twist WASN'T 'it was all a dream', I was shocked. That's how nuts this show goes. It's on netflix, go watch it.

One Piece- I'm still loving it.

Gundam Reconguista In G- It's a mixbag due to it's uneven tone and setting and the odd characters they have. I get they are trying to be different from the previous series but so far I am not impressed by it.

Gundam Build Fighter- This one is doing better compared to the above Gundam series. Sure it's a sequel so it somewhat similar but at the same time creating new thing like the red hair guy lose a match but was not upset by it and actually learned something from it and one of the rival characters has a crush on him. Overall I am enjoying this series just like the first one and it's doing better than Reconguista In G

Naruto Shippudden- Wait? Are they still adding fillers in the episode? What's the point in it now or do they do not want to finish the anime as soon as possible?

Hitsugi no Chaika- The plot thickens and I still enjoying this anime!

Fairy Tail- Ok technically I have stopped watching it for the time being cos it is on filler.

Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis- This show is awesome! It's fun, it's gorgeous, has great music, great action, and has a great cast of characters. For an anime based on a mobile card battle game, it is way better than it has any right to be. This is probably my favorite show this season, and possibly the year, or at least one of them. Why isn't more people watching this?

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works- As expected, I'm enjoying this immensely. Of course it's insanely better than the previous adaptation. The action is amazing, I actually like Shiro quite a bit, and Rin is still best girl.

Psycho-Pass 2- I'm enjoing it, and am curious as to where it is going, but I really don't like Mika. Good thing Akane is amazing as always.

Sword Art Online 2- Unlike most users here, I enjoy SAO despite its flaws. I find the second season far better than the first.

Cross Ange- This show is so stupidly bad and tasteless that I can't take my eyes off it. It makes good fodder for jokes and ridicule.

Just 'speed' marathon'd Taishou Yakyuu Musume... -_-

Anyway, currently... Akame ga Kill (really digging Esdeath), Hitsugi no Chaika - Avenging Battle and Denki-gai no Honya-san.

I've got Psycho PASS 2 to watch as well...

Aldnoah Zero. Pretty good. It's another take on the Gundam formula; there is a space colony and an earth federation in uneasy equilibriuim till the inevatible conflict breaks out and giant robots with teenage pilots are deployed, but the characterization and the way the story is told kept me hooked. The colonies are kind of the bad guys here as they provoke war with earth and having the upper hand b/c of their Aldnoah drives(imagine earth's Zakus versus the colonies' Gundams).

Speaking of Gundam I'm also watching the compilation movies of the original early '80's run. It still holds up pretty well in my opinion. To be honest not much has changed in the 30 years since.

Due to complications[footnote]i.e. shitty uni internet.[/footnote], not really watching much of this season. Well, except for what's being shown at the animu society. Though, the only very recent anime that got voted through was No Game No Life and Tokyo Ghoul. Hate the former, despite only having watched one episode since all I see is a semi-decent anime riddled with an infection of those awful anime tropes but love the latter and cannot wait for the uncensored versions to be released.

Since I got my anime DVDs brought over to my uni digs, I've been binging 'em. Already watched Origin: Spirits of the Past - great intro sequence but kinda dumb. Agito's "TOOOOOOOOLA" moments could rival "Press X to Jason".

I STILL don't watch much anime (I've had this conversation about three times in the past week, so pardon the emphasis) but I've been indulging my nostalgia lately and started re-watching the original Full Metal Alchemist anime. And now I want to get back into anime in general, but I want something in the same vein as FMA, and it's been so long I just don't know what there is...

Have you tried using an ethernet cable? My dorm's wifi is ass, so I just went old-school. It gets fidgety if I move my laptop and the cord gets tangled around everything, but my connection's a lot better now. I can actually stream stuff!

Same here when it comes to this one.

I'm also getting back into Shakugan no Shana. I purposely stopped watching it about a year ago because the third and final season was barely beginning, so I waited for the entire series to be finished so that I may pick it back up and watch it from start to finish. I'm also going to be trying to get into a few new anime series I've been meaning to get to.

I always find it funny that I seem to get back into anime and manga whenever I'm not taking a Japanese class. :/

None at the moment. I'm waiting for Parasite the Maxim and Log Horizon 2 to finish before I watch them because I hate having to wait a week all the time. I finished off Tokyo Ghoul not long ago and was watching some other show on Crunchyroll, but it's just some ecchi-harem stupid thing, and I've seen a hundred of those as a minor.

Might bookmark this thread. Thanks for making it.
It also might be time to all of Evangelion and the Madoka movies.

[small]You have no idea how condescending that sounds to me.[/small]

*Ahem* I have. There is a slight problem with the ethernet connection: in order for it to be used, a program to monitor what sites you go on has to be installed. Me no likey.

I only have about a hundred more one piece episodes to go before catching up. I never thought I would make it this far, although Fantasy Life has been eating up a lot of my anime time recently.

Not much else besides that. I wanted to finally get in the OP loop, so everything else was put on the backburner. The other animes I've watched recently was:
Denki-Gai, A hilarious slice of life about a manga shop. I've only watched the first episode but I would def. recommend it to anyone.

Hi-sCool! Seha Girls, This one is frikkin weird. It's about anthromorphosized versions of the Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, and Genesis in a sega themed High School about sega. Pretty average so far, the humor's very hit-or-miss. Like the Op/ED tho.

and I think I have a couple of episodes of Akame ga Kill and Persona 4 golden lying around. Don't think I'll ever finish them though, they kinda lost my interest.
