What annoys you most in Online Gaming?

Lagging and kids. I don't generally like kids anyway, but the worst example I can think of was this idiot child who had just turned 3 (I know this because the kid would shut the fuck up about it), and tried to play on her brother's computer. The game that happened to be running at the time was TF2. And I just happened to be in that match. First off, one guy's skill level dropped drastically and then he started switching between the different classes schizophrenically. Then the idiot child opened her mouth. And wouldn't stop going on about her personal life and stating the very obvious about what was going on in the match. It was worse for me because the little girl had decided to play as a spy at one point (my favored class), and started following me around (I was the only other spy on our team), and kept shouting things like "We're swimming! Yeah!", thus giving away our position... just a pity that friendly fire was disabled...).

Any overpowered or generally unfair weapon. Uncharted 2's a prime example of this, with insta-kill rocket launchers being easily accessed by anyone in the game.
Also servers that have special donator privileges, like move faster, have more health, or in some cases never have to reload.

Back to the topic at hand. I hate it when someone complains when I use certain weapons, like shotguns, sniper rifles, throwing a grenade around a corner (only once I might add), etc...

This is what made me quit playing Counter-Strike years ago. First it was the AWP, then the P90, then it was 5.1 sound and I finally gave up when people started bitching about the mp5. The fucking mp5! The most basic gun in the game is a "n00b-weapon"!? When the hell did that happen!

The AWP I can sort of understand since you could just focus on that weapon and win every match you connect to with it, but the MP5? The weakest automatic weapon in the entire game? I sure hope labotomies aren't mandatory when playing CS:S.

People. While I am a teen, the other kids out there calling me a hacker for killing them really annoys the hell out of me and I've been kicked several times by these kids.

For me, it's young children. You find them in CS:S, you find them in Halo 3, but I don't play those, so I mostly find them in TF2. But what really ticks me off is that I find children in Modern Warfare 2 of all games, and to find kids who from the sounds of their voices can only be about 12 years old in a game that in the UK has an 18 Certificate on it is simply not right.

And why do these children annoy me? Well, they have no idea of the appropriate volume to speak at, they try and order you around, they call everyone else n00bs and hackers, they tend to resort to using swear words and racial slurs at a speed faster than that at which Yahtzee speaks, and whenever they're doing badly, they try and blame every single person but themselves, often calling people on the other team Hackers when all they did was headshot them. It's really annoying.

Generally Light Hearted games, these. Especially Tf2. CS:S and Tf2 have the valve link, But I don't know what brings them to Halo.

Tf2 is brilliant and has kept my attention for 400+ hours. Even the kids don't spoil it for me.

i hate it when online play shortens the single player mode

One of my biggest complaints summed up quite well! I hate it when a developer spends so much time thinking about the Multi-player that the single player campaign ends up being shorter than the title of the damned game. The relationship between the single player and multi-player should be like that of a bowl of spaghetti and a good amount of shredded myzithra. The spaghetti provides a satisfying and filling experience, giving the game some substance while also sating ones hunger, however once your done, there's not much reason to go back unless you really want more every once and awhile. Myzithra (or Parmesan, or chili or tomato sauce, whatever you put on it) adds to the dish a great flavor, something that makes it distinct, makes it fun and keeps you coming back for more and feels quite rewarding, but not something that you should have as the meal itself, just a compliment, flavoring if you will.

Sorry, that might have gone on for a bit too long but it stands.

Plus I hate it when my PS3 keeps logging me out, my Xbox never does that. Also I hate a game that doesn't let you easily mute people, making you stop everything just to flip through options just to shut someone up.

This mostly includes TKers, and spammers.

Generally I have the luxury of avoiding these people, because I play Battlefield 2142 on a few select Team oriented servers.
