Alot of people are quoting the Mayan calendar on that, but in actuality that year and date is supposed to be a time of great spiritual awakening, not destruction.

Kitten apocalypse.

"The kittens...they're everywhere!"
"But they're so cute...I wanna pet one!"
"Kowalski! Nooooooo!"
*sound of spleen being eaten*

I really don't want a Water World Esq Apocalypse. Living on rafts and building my house out of drift wood for the rest of my life would get pretty boring.

Unless that raft had zombies on it.

Actually it's both, according to them. Great tribulation and such.

My greatest fear is of a nanotech future where the genie somehow doesn't get out of the bottle. If a few people manage to maintain control of it (extremely unlikely but possible), they could effectively become gods. They could take absolute control over the bodies and minds of every creature in the world. They could give you as much physical or emotional pain as they want, forever. You and everyone you've ever loved.

Given the choice between that and grey goop, I'll take the goop.

To some people, that's the same thing.

In the end, I wouldn't put much faith in the predictions of a culture that's been dead and buried longer than Chris Farley.

Oh how I miss Chris.
I'm not a superstitious guy, I could careless what happens regardless.

I'm the type that feels if I die then whatever. I'll be a little pissed cuz I'll lose all my memories and shit, but I'll keep on a truckin'. I'm just concerned with having a little more sex before that year. Just in case. You can never be too safe when it comes to getting your lays in.

OK huge geek out moment here but this is the only poem I ever memorized, it's from Frost.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Seom say in ice.
From what I know of passion and desire,
I agree with those who favor fire.
But from what I know of cruelty and hate,
I know that ice is also great
and would suffice.

I may have a few bits wrong but I always liked that poem and I think it applies.
