The World Ends With You is maybe my favourie non-Pokemon DS game (I need to specfy since Pokemon is endlessly cheating by piggybacking on the previous ones). Extra Credits is right about how this is the best game to come out of Square Enix in years. It's a strange game and very sink or swim (I'll just say that there is dual-screen combat unless you hand over the top to the AI), but for what it's worth it's quite good. Great style, interesting mechanics, and the battles and story can be pretty intense when it isn't such a clusterfuk.

Okamiden is ok, but a huge letdown if you're a major fan of Okami. I'm sorry, but the game completely forgot not only what made the original good but THE BLOODY PLOT! Capcom, thanks to my friend with the Japanese version I'm 100% sure that most of the game's fuck-ups are not caused by translation errors (SOME are...like calling the gender-less or FEMALE protagonist fans spent 30+ hours loving a MALE). No excuses, the game just wasn't made with the dash of love Okami was. You could do a lot worse with the DS at least, just I want to say Okamiden is good but with a huge asterisk.

The Zelda DS games are pretty good. Except for some fussy DS and ship controls and the HUGE problem of repetition, Phantom Hourglass still a pretty solid game. Then came Spirit Tracks, took everything that made PH good, and made it a crapload better.

The Professor Layton Games.
Custom Robo Arena.
The Pokemon Games, specifically Black/White and Heart Gold/Soul Silver.
9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, probably my favorite DS game.
Mario Kart DS.
From what I have hear, The World Ends With You is great.
Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks.
That is all I can think of right now.

Mega Man Zero Collection - This is the best game ever. If you want awesome boss battles, awesome weapons, awesome level design, and badass, tough without being cheap difficulty (especially the boss fights), you can't go wrong with the Zero Collection.

Contra 4 - If you want awesome boss fights and tricky platforming, go with MMZC. If you enjoy blasting the shit out of a big ass gauntlet of aliens go with Contra 4. Also, you can unlock Contra 1 and Super C, but sadly, not Contra 3.

And to a lesser extent, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. From what I've heard, it's the best DS Castlevania, and the hardest. Near the end of the game, all sense of balance goes out the window. You can find items and glyphs (basically the game's equivalent of weapons) that make you deal absurd amounts of damage, run ridiculously fast, fly, and shoot overpowered beams of energy like some Dragonball Z character. There's also some annoying fetch quests and "kill X monster over and over until he drops some super rare item" quests, but thankfully those are optional. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the Metroidvania style level system.

GTA Chinatown Wars is supposedly the best game on the DS, at least according to Metacritic I think.

Tetris all the way. Good luck finding it though.
Also Chrono Trigger
Pokemon (Black/White HeartGold/SoulSilver)
Myst (Also good luck finding)
All Professor Layton
There are a few decent download titles but it really just depends on what you like.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike is amazing, I bloody love that little game. All of the DS Castlevania titles are also damned good. The last one in particular, Order of Ecclesia, was an excellent game.

Surprisingly the Age of Empires games on the DS are also pretty good. I like them, but then I'm a sucker for any decent strategy game and those certainly apply.

Hotel Dusk: Room 215 was also a fun little adventure game as was the Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars port. Both are great examples of the point & click style genre and both work excellent on the DS.

And of course Elite Beat Agents, because it's a game about saving the world from alien invasion via the power of dance and music. Badass!

I'll see your EBA and raise you Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2. Although any self-respecting person should own both.

Also, Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure. Traditional 2D platformer on the top screen, match-3 puzzler on the bottom screen. Daft humour and a tea-drinking gentleman explorer who transforms into a rocket-fisted giant robot.

Wow, this is awesome. Some of these I've played, others I've heard nothing but good things and others look like they flew under my radar.

Gonna have to make a list for myself.

Good stuff.

Keep it coming.

Inifinite Space has been the best DS game I found.

Otherwise its Pokemon, DQM Joker, Or Yu Gi oH

A sort of RPG mainly a Action stratagem game. Hard to explain.

I sold it because I realized $80 is way more fun than a DS lite. The only good one was phantom hourglass at the time I sold it.

So when you've an empty shelf, just buy a game 'bout a green elf.

If you don't mind ports, I would recommend the DS port of Plants VS. Zombies. It's a pretty good portable version if you don't want to put it on a laptop. It has a requisite gimmicky bit involving the DS microphone, and I've had it bug out on me once, but that was probably more that I was playing for five hours more than anything and the gimmicky bit is quickly dealt with and forgotten.
