Well, I was going to write some drawn out post about Anti-fanboys, but this pretty much covers it.

I never see any fanboys much, it's more the ANTI-fanboys/girls. "*Insert random thing here* sucks because *insert personal reasons why it does* blah blah" If someone mentions that they like something without saying "HERP DERP MINEZ THE GREATEST" they STILL get pounced on by anti-fanboys proclaiming it to be the blandest most generic thing ever. And it happens a lot if someone mentions they like and enjoy CoD or Battlefield.

So yeah, anti-fanboys suck more than regular ones.

OT: my personal hatred goes to the apple fan boys that are ignorant to things like their tech they use is kinda old, and feel their products are near godlike in quality and think Steve jobs is a genius for adding something that should have been there.

Problem is, you need an expensive computer to play modern games on them. Consoles on the other hand, are £200, so for a lot of people, like moi, consoles are the logical choice of gaming if you can't afford that gaming PC.

My gaming rig was about 250?. Dual core @ 3.00GHz, 2gb ram and one GTS250. Nothing fancy.

I scavenged the screen (180?) and the sound system (90?) from my previous system. So I am going to count that as a point for the PC and not include it on the final cost.

Current gen console:
My brother spent 250? on his elite. The image sucks on older TV sets and most titles couldn't even be played so we had to use the living-room TV (700?) which is not even full HD.

+65? (X360)or 70? (PS3) for each game.
+the cost for live subscription (N/A on PS3)

Not to mention that mods and user generated content make your games last longer and the online is (mostly) free.



You get more value for money with a PC. I'm tired of that "You need to spend over 1500? to play current gen games" and "it will get obsolete in 3 months" I keep hearing.

Okay then, I don't trust my £600 computer with current gen games at full graphics since it heavily struggled with WoW and Batman, and had to be on medium for both. So be right back while I'll punch the person who sold the computer to me.

It happens especially when they are in a group, when someone disagrees with them, and especially if there are rivals (like Star Wars VS Star Trek). You're going to have fans that annoy you all the time, and they are an endless swarm. (Zerg rush, anybody?)

The most annoying fans, therefore, are the ones who have to be annoying. It's circular logic, but the idea is that the ones who don't curb themselves EVER are the worst. And they can be from any fandom, anytime, anywhere.

No reasoning, I gave a good reason why I don't like people that attack someone when they mention they enjoy something, a good example of that being you saying that Battlefield and Call of Duty are the lowest common denominator and that console gamers aren't real gamers. This thread was about why you do not like the fans of those things, not those themselves, so your attack was for no particular reason on them. Which is what I particularly don't like.

Forget Religion and Politics, this stuff gets shoved down my throat WAY more! It's ridiculous! How did it even get so popular, it's only slightly above average in the first place, damnit! And yet I find it hard to avoid fans telling me how great it apparently is and how it's sooo much better than Twilight. Argh! It would be bearable if the fans weren't so frequently vocal... I actually used to enjoy getting my Harry Potter on, but now I just can't bear it. At least it should subside with the last movie coming out and all.

On a gaming note, any console fan who think that their console is the best and is quite vocal. I'm sick of this crap! Oh, is your PS3 better because it has superior graphics? Oh, is Xbox live a much better service? Oh is your Wii... doing things? Well shut the hell up! I don't care if you think you PS3/Xbox/Wii is better, I am just so very sick of this damn argument.

This, more or less. As a PC "Elitist" I don't have a problem with consoles per se, I have a problem with the fact that many devs that would have developed a game for the PC instead focus on the 360 or PS3, and it often ends up being an inferior product.

Just one case in point: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Which I got on Steam for $10 ). The multiplayer system has no publicly viewable game lobbies, you just have to use the match-making system (and it's a terrible one). Also, you can't type to chat in the game lobby, you can only use voice chat, which usually seems to be broken. Now, a game designed for a console can have features like public lobbies and typing in them (i.e. Metal Gear Solid 4) but these features aren't expected on console games. If devs took a PC first mentality, console gamers would receive more and better features, but instead it's the other way around and PC gamers are stuck with bad ports with inferior and infuriating features.
