Hello

so what are the 3 best and worst games you have seen this year E3?

to me

Best

1. Deus Ex Mankind divided
2. PREY
3. Mount and Blade 2 bannerlord

Deus Ex was technically reveal last year but its good to see more of it while PREY is only game that reveal that really impressed me.

Worst

1. Watch Dogs 2 (by Far and away)
2. Horrizon zero dawn
3. Last guardian

ubisoft manage to make a game that make assassins creed a masterpiece. great!. last guardian and horrizon zero dawn looks very underwelmingly especially horrizon looks like cinematic action game claiming RPG .

B-Cell, I can feel myself regretting this even as I type it, but maybe elaborate?

Tells us what appeals in your top list, and what isn't your cup of tea for your bottoms.

And I mean that phrasing, none of this 'worst game evar, on rails girly nonsense cod clone rubbish'. Tell us why things look great to you, why other titles don't really capture your imagination.

I've never seen it as such. I accepted Arena, but I absolutely love Quake 2, I must have replayed that game a good 20-30 times. Quake 1 and 4's single player was really good as well (well, 1 more than 4)

Same as last year, I'm just happy The Last Guardian is finally getting a release. And Zero Dawn looks fun.

Given that none of them are finished and all we have seen is marketing BS, it's seems way too early to be making judgments about the quality of anything shown at E3. However, if you're asking what piqued my interest, I would say Mass Effect Andromeda, Horizon Zero Dawn, the new Insomniac Spider-Man game, and Days Gone looked the most interesting to me.

Best:
Dawn of War III
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
...That's about it. Resident Hills 7 looks decent, but incredible derivative and predictable and cheap, like a haunted house at an amusement park or some indie student's first gore-tastic zombie flick. Though it's fatally crippled by VR, so boo!

Worst:
Everything else, especially anything VR related. Doesn't anyone remember the motion controls from last gen? And how abysmal it was? And how silently and quickly everyone gave up on it because fuck having to buy a $400 machine, $60+ game and a $150 VR head set just to play a bland and barely functional Star Wars game.
Every time someone said VR/immersion/bringing the player into the game/or dynamic game-play I'm reminded of Steel Battalion.

I found pretty much the whole thing rather unspectacular. There was very little I'm interested in, and even for the things I am there was very little gameplay showed off.

Highlights
-Dishonored 2
-Dawn of War 3
-Battlefield 1
-Prey
-Lawbreakers

Other than that it's just been a parade of BS cinematic trailers, developers making promises, delays, etc. Microsoft announced 2 new consoles in case it wasn't clear enough that they didn't know what they were doing, and Ubi gutted Ghost Recon to make it Ubi Shooter #6758

My friend, what I don't understand is that Deus Ex: MD could also be considered cinematic action game claiming RPG. They both have heavily cinematic scripts guiding the action, with open environments and various upgrade paths.

I myself think both games look terrific, but am leaning more towards Deus Ex because of playing the previous.

Also, The Last Guardian is cross gen, with heavily stylized visuals. The creature alone though is one of the most detailed characters this generation in terms of look, size, and especially interactivity/AI possibilities. This developer always makes exceptional games. Shadow of the Colossus creatures required an engineering feat that most game developers still don't even attempt to replicate today.

Horizon Zero Dawn is the only game they showed that made the hype only grow bigger.
BF1 and Dishonored 2 have my interest.

Rest is either not interested or dissapointment.

Until I can actually play the games with my bear, soiled paws...I cannot pass judgement. They all appear to have equal parts promise and doubt. I usually go for what feels like the most painful of morbid curiosities. So!...

The Last Guardian; mainly because apparently team ico make the gaming equivalent of intergalactic gold dust, yet I have not played a single title from them before.

Kojima's...thing? Whatever it is, I need more...more everything! Especially cold, hard information.

Horizon Zero Porn; Mystery mysterious mysteries... stop being so mysterious and come back here so I can play you!

Worst would be the most predictable, sports games, racing games, rumteetummtee...ooh squirrel! Not that they look bad, but all they tend to be are graphical upgrades and updated additions. How many sweatbeads and glistening rain drops do we really need to showcase??

The fact that I am a proud proponent of the glorious master race and an outspoken enemy of Uplay and Origin means there aren't that many games that can fit in my Top-list.
But let's try to fill it.

1. Tyranny

Since I am a big Obsidian fanboy I will most likely get it on release.
The fact that MCA has left the team makes me sad but I am optimistic that Obsidian is still able to write an interesting and compelling story. And the fact that the games seems to be Lawful Evil the game also makes it interesting.

2. Mount and Blade 2

The first game is very entertaining, especially if you have Ride of the Rohirrim on autorepeat.
Playing herding dog while your archers kill the enemies never gets dull.
And there don't seem to be firearms which is nice.

3. Dawn of War 3

Kinda bummed that there are only 3 races and no Imperial Guard.
But the game seems to be a nice combination of the first 2 games.

Bottom 3

1. Watchdogs 2

The whole presentation as just so cringy.

we are anomalous
we are region
forgive and forget
expecto patronum

2. Every single VR game. Like all of them. Yes even the one you like.

E3 didn't manage to sell me on the concept.
Especially when it seems that you won't be moving in a lot of the games.
I take a monitor and the ability to move my legs thank you very much.

On second thought the Star Trek one looked fairly interesting from a VR standpoint. Not so much from a fun game standpoint

3. Battlefield 1

After all their talking about "realism" they decided to make the French army a DLC.
Look I'm German I hate the French just as much as everybody else but you can't just cut one of the most important armies.
Cut the American if you need an army as DLC.
But I guess their target audience couldn't feel as much as the big hero then, could they.
This is one of the most disgusting DLC schemes I have ever seen.

Edit:
Honourable mention to the VR-backpack from AMD because it made me laugh.

Probably RE7 as the only game that wasn't announced yet and which change in direction really surprised me(for the better). That is for the first time in over 10 years I'm looking forward to a new Resident Evil game. :p

'Worst' probably all those announcements for VR games I really don't care about. I'm sure VR will be fun on occasion but really when I play games I want to relax with controller in hand not stand in my living room knocking down furniture while I pretend to be in some make-belief world of low-resolution polygons.

Also no sign of RE2 and FF7 remakes. Though that might have been a strategic decision not to steal the limelight from RE7 and FF15.
