So i just bought an Xbox today and i was wondering if you guys could help me decide which games to get first. I only have about $100 to spend though so older and used games would be better.

The 2008 Prince of Persia game is great for newcomers. Its a relatively painless, pretty enjoyable experience.

You could probably get it for cheap used.

I also suggest Fable 2, easy to play and fairly enjoyable. If you avoided Moleneux's hype at least.

Resident Evil 5 is also on the list.

All games are about a year or more old and you could find them for cheap. Used or otherwise.

The Mass Effect games are great. 2 is a lot better than the first, but the first is awesome as well, and cheaper.

You simply can't die in that game for most of it if you leave the vita chambers on. It is a cool story and atmosphere as well. The graphics are still great I think. And it is more fun than most first person shooters because of things like plasmids (basically magic powers).

Disagree with both Resident Evil 5 and Prince of Persia. Even with the constant help if you fall in Prince of Persia I still found the game frustrating in a rental. Resident Evil 5's demo seemed extremely frustrating.

Fable 2 is a fun and easy game though.

Also, someone recommended Dead Rising? WTF That game's saving system from what I read seems extremely fucking frustrating.

1. Bioshock
2. Mass Effect 1
3. Mass Effect 2 (get 1 first and play through it first for the full ME experience, both are only about 20 new now)
4. Halo 3
5. Fallout 3

You should be able to get all 5 for about $100, buying them new or used (H3 might be $30 though, not sure).

Well when I got my 360 I started with:

Oblivion Game of the Year edition
Halo 3
Assassin's Creed
BioShock
Mass Effect

I really enjoyed them all, though Halo 3 was a bit of a disappointment. These days if I had just bought a 360 I would probably choose the same but replace Halo 3 with Dead Space or Fallout 3 GOTY edition or Mirror's Edge.

On a budget of $100 they should be pretty easy to find I think.

Hmm Id like to think this wouldn't be your first time playing games. So it would depend on the genre of games you like to play like racing, fps, rts, rpg ect. My advice would be to you is don't believe hype or what people is saying is a good game, like if you don't like fps games stay away from Call of Duty and so on.

Me I like rpg games and if you are into them one epic game comes to mind and thats Oblivion. In my opinion its the best rpg game on the market when it was released and still is today in my opinion.

But by all seriousness don't buy a game because someone told you it was good, you will end up being disappointed more often than not. Do you own research. This should not only save you money but make your gaming experience so much better.

Hope this helped.

RE 5 wasnt too bad a game(the demo didnt do it justice) just watch out for the bad voice acting:( and dead riseing isnt for the easily frustrated, but if you just want to say fuck the story and just kill shit you can.(thats how i hit lvl 50:)

OT: i would sugest these games as fallow;

1. mass effect 1
2. mass effect 2
3. blue dragon
4. dragon age
5. fable 2 and/or 3
hope this helps man:)

Oh yeah, one other recommendation, if the topic creator has Xbox live then just try all the various demos that seem cool. You can probably spend hours just playing the different demos, and if you really like one rent or buy that game.
