Better compatability with a wider range of wireless hubs would be a start.

Better pricing models for DL games to bridge the gap between XBLA and AAA level would be great. Atm "B grade" games are between a rock and a hardplace with $12 is too little to cover the cost of development and retail quickly bombs to the bargin bin unless it has fans and hype to push launch day sales

backwards compatability with atleast with XBL / PSN titles.

Better reliability. Theres no way i'm buying a console until i'm sure it wont break down.

Fresh IPs, sick of Gears, Mass Effect etc, we need some fresh flagship titles

Real 1080p HD games not this fake HD low fps era we are in atm. Hopefully FoV might widen abit too

Except for the first and last one, these are a little unrealistic to expect.

Real 1080p HD falls under better hardware.

I'm surprised that there are people out there that don't hardwire their internet to the router, but I suppose some people live in big houses. Anyway, wouldn't this just be simpler to include an adapter of some sort?

The pricing model is only going to get a lot worse with next gen. Since graphical capability will increase, this will only result in production costs being an even bigger problem.

New consoles are never reliable anymore. They always have problems and they are always cheaply made so companies can save a buck.

Fresh IPs. When we're going into the hundreds of millions next gen, there's no way they're going to be taking chances with new IPs. It's going to be the same thing.

Wouldn't a wide FoV on a console be kind of a bad idea?

OT: Full 1080p graphics and full backwards compatibility would be nice.

I would just change the hub but its one provided by my isp with a handset that we use as our home phone. It's no major thing as I can set it up, only I have to redo it every so often. Probably new firmware. Haven't really looked into an adaptor but from what I hear they too are troublesome with 360s

I understand how the industry is atm, but a new console is a time for new IP unless Sony / MS can find hardware and gameplay gimmicks like Ninty I would hope they'll need a few fresh IPs to sell their new hardware.

No way am I buying a new console with the problems the 360 has had. Still I can stomach a lower failure rate like other systems

With the larger size of LCD / Plasma screens a narrow FoV isnt as cut and dry anymore. I think maybe something in between PC and the current gen would be best imo

Very true, I never actually thought of that. Maybe adjustable FoV's like on PC? To compensate for smaller TV's.

Possibly but, it does open up a whole can of worms as it could make more problems than it fixes. Narrow FoV is a godsend for devs who are pushing the graphical limitations of consoles to the max.

I think any AAA dev would sacrifice FoV for some extra graphical sparkle, something that is ever more pressing on them if the hardware is long in the tooth.

I would love to see if there is any difference in FoV between early and late 360 & Ps3 FPS games. I wouldn't be surprised if FoV is slightly narrower nowadays

amen to that bro.

About half the games I play are dpad games, that said i'm still using a std 360 slim pad. While not as good as a dedicated d-pad controller its much much MUCH better than the original 360 pad and 90% of those ps3 clones for the PC like the Logitech dualshock (which are overpriced and have low build quality, where the buttons wear out in 2-3 months too)

I used to moan about MS intregating 360 pads into windows, but after using them for a while i'm glad they did

Mini rant.

I think too many gamers don't value a good pad. For me its half the experience of gaming. Thats why the Mega Drive version of Street Fighter 2 is better than the SNES, even if the SNES version has a slight technical edge the pad sucked compared to a MD 6 button pad

Literally just better hardware. The current generation are getting old, and there's only so much that can be done with graphics whilst they remain. I know graphics doesn't make a game but they certainly help in making it look spectacular.

To be able to put a disc in my console and play a game no need to enter any codes to be able to play a part no need to shift through fifty menus filled with adds just to play a downloaded game No more dlc announced before a game is made What I want for the next gen of consoles Is what made consoles great in the first part easy gaming You put the disc in and can simply play the game

Good games? And while we're at it a handy-j every time I clear a goal.

Maybe too much to ask, so let's say less prone to bugs, crashing and all that other stuff that used to stay on good PC games that needed a few patches or just objectively bad games. Just because you can patch doesn't mean you should release a broken game, that's why I used to always buy console in the first place. A little polish I guess is what I'm asking for.

Upgradable hardware, I would pay £50 every couple of years to get better looking games/more FPS.

Mouse support (or maybe even an Xbox specific mouse) for RTS games.

Less adverts!

As long as they don't screw up the controllers as bad as the wii U has, I don't really think much can go wrong with them. Although I did hear a rumor (unconfirmed) that they will use a pricing model involving a cheap console (100-200) but with you forced into a 2 year online plan with somewhat over the top pricing. Basically, if true, this would be what I refer to as pulling an Apple.

I want some more gameplay options within the games. Why can't a set my own FoV? Or lower a draw distance if i don't want to deal with the 30 fps im getting with your "finely tuned to consoles" game? I like how Saints Row 2 let me turn on or off the V-Sync, that's kinda nice. Kinda sad how something so simple is neat for a console game, but hey, its a start.

I'd also like to see some more work put into reducing load times. As games get more and more stuffed with graphics and animations and the sort, the loading times are getting really bad. Skyrim is a good example of this. I love that game to death, but even being installed on the hard drive, the loading times really start to get under your skin; especially when you accidentally open a "load new area" door and start trying to run away from it like it'll stop sucking you into it's loading vortex. But maybe that's just me.

Backwards compability, or at least the option to import your old profile to the new console would be great.
My precious trophies!

Wouldn't mind a better controller for the PS4 either. Had to put on rubber stuff on the sticks and triggers on the L2/R2 buttons, on my PS3 controller, to be able to play without it feeling weird.
Damn triggers broke though. Worthless piece of shit.
