What are you a fanatic of?

Some of us just have to admit that we're fanboys, fangirls, or otherwise fanatics of something in our lives. Whether we're hardcore about a special movie, a special video game, or maybe even our world views or religion. That isn't to say we all are, but I know some of us are the kind of people who will defend our favourite things to the grave.

I'm not a Square-Enix fanatic. I'm not even a Final Fantasy fanatic. But one game I will say had such a huge impact on my life that it's almost like a third-party parent that I catch myself defending thoughtlessly all the time: Final Fantasy XI. I know it's not perfect, and in fact recently I've grown to hate it. But so much of it was so awesome that I still can't stand it when people hate on it for seemingly no good reason.

I can't say I'm really a fanboy about anything, but lighthouses, fonts, and the workings of the mind fascinate me more than anything else.

Quentin Tarantino films. Every time work/life has been tougher than usual I'll stick one of his movies on. Also his films are the only thing I can talk to my dad about, so that's a reason why I love them I guess. The fantastic writing being another, and the always well chosen cast have stole my fanboy heart.

I'm not a fan of the concept of a "fanboy", and I don't care all that much if a random person dislikes something I like. No matter if it is for a good reason or not.

It's not defending if your preaching another person to like the same things as you do. That's like a nutjob creepily preaching you on the streets about Jes... whatever religion.

But I do take great interest in: Hip Hop Music, many things Monty Python -related, Tolkien's works, TV series like Deadwood, The Wire... and a bunch of other stuff.
