trying to beat the final boss in dark souls and my god he is hard, started playin DOW retrubution after sitting in my library four about half a year.

What kind of character-build do you play with?
I beat the game as a dex, light armored, melee, and a bit pyromancy, sort of guy, with 15 Vitality, and the last boss didn't take much more than 10-20 tries. Think I was about level 80-90.
I watched my friend challenging the same boss at a lower level, as a sorcerer, and shot it down in a matter of seconds.

Your play-style really makes a difference at certain points in the game, everyone I have talked with have struggled on different parts, than both me and each other.

I have been playing a lot of Iron Brigade lately. It's a fun third-person mech shooter+tower defense game made by Double Fine. You can customize your trench(the mech) in all kinds of ways to help you defend your objectives from the onslaught of the Tubes. It's really fun and has up to four player online co-op. Be warned, we have been having a lot of issues with lag lately which can make it very hard to stay in a game.(or at least on the XBLA version)

Mass Effect.

For what is (at last count) my fourteenth playthrough.

I've long resignd myself to the fact that I love ME far too much for my own good and to stay sane I must accept and embrace that fact.

For anyone who cares: Sinead Shepard, Engineer, Insanity, Paragon.

Tribes: Ascend beta.
Just got it and am still learning how to play, it's a very fun game. Skiing everywhere is great.
Did you like the big patch changes?

anyway OT
Tribes ascend
batman arkham city
dustforce
kingdoms amular
titan attacks
and occaisonally torchlight to get me in the mind for tl2

(yes thats a lot of games, but several of them i play in short doses (15-20 mins) because the game is built to allow it.
I only just got the game after the patch so I don't know what it was like pre-patch.
How is kingdoms of amular btw? I liked the demo and would have bought it if not for it coming out the same times as Darkness 2.

Europa Universalis III: Divine Wind - England, 1470. Recently started colonising North America and have 3 vassals.

Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne/Lucifer's Call - Level 37, some strong demons and the Anathema magatama.

TES V: Skyrim - Level 26, in possession of several Daedric Artifacts and halfway through main quest. Magic Knight of sorts.

Skyrim: Lv 41 Light Armor, Sword&Board; with mods for a Link-ish Guild Master Armor and a Hylian Shield

SWTOR: Lv 29 Soldier/Vanguard Tank (Light Side); wearing a refitted Jedi Robe

and thinking about firing up my good ol' GC with Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on expert again...
The Boost Guardian made me ragequit after trying for three days culminating in a run where I was only one Lightblast short of vaporizing that filthy sludge.

Just Cause 2 (really should have got it sooner); just finished the story mode and for some mad reason, vaguely heading towards 100% completion (sitting on ~40%, with six of the nine regions practically unexplored, so I've got a long way to go). No idea why, considering I've got 2 playthroughs of Mass Effect 2 that aren't going to play themselves to completion (both are pretty much just at the start) before Mass Effect 3 comes out. I've also got a hardcore playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas to do still and another Skyrim character to start and build up before the DLC comes out, so... wahey I blew up an oil rig and it was awesome!!! *goes off to play more Just Cause 2*

Legend of Zelda Link to the Past remember trying it when it first came out and disliking it just picked it up again last week and have got to the 2nd dungeon in the dark world maybe my skills have improved or my preferred games have changed but I am enjoying it a lot more in fact objectively speaking it may be the best Zelda game I have ever played (although not my favourite).

Also playing Soul Calibur V with my newly purchased arcade stick and am enjoying it quite a lot I also need to retry KoFXIII and Blazblue:CS now as well.

Dark Souls. And eh, its not as hard as people made it out to be, its just fucking cheap. You grind and grind to get souls to level up, then something happens and a enemy gets in a few lucky shots or you get knocked off a ledge and then you have to back track for fucking ages just to get your souls back. And if you happen to screw up again then all your grinding is lost. Then if you do get them back you have to try to make your way to a bon fire to use them.
Remove the goddamn back tracking and it would not be nearly as hard.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3
My first Dynasty Warrior and Gundam game, rolled into one. It's pretty fun so far, although it seems to be resorting to downright cheap moves to increase the difficulty for the most part. This cheapness has resulted in a few odd and completely bullshit situations, such as when I'm utterly destroying Amuro in his Nu Gundam, and Shinn and Lunamaria run up in a couple of Zakus and kill me in about 3 seconds.

Mass Effect

I'm currently replaying this for what I think is the fourth time, in the run up to the release of Mass Effect 3. I can't deny how excited I am for ME3. However, I can also no longer deny just how much better ME2 was than the original. Sorry to all you ME1 lovers but pretty much the only enjoyable bits of ME1 are the dialogue sections, everything else blows.

Replaying Dragon Age Origins for the 4th after not playing it for a year. So I can actually import the save to Dragon Age 2, just to see what some changes were. And I also learned that tactics are really helpful in that game as are buffs and debuffs.

I've been feeling a ton of Elder Scrolls hatred lately, so I've been playing Fallout non stop for the last few days.
