The month has taken a decidedly bizarre turn. But what else have you been listening to? Is it an experiment that should have been stopped before it started? Have you found something that sets new standards good or bad? Or are you still listening to the same old stuff? Let us know, whatever the reason. Genre is wide open.

Also, just a lot of Down, for some reason
Do you ever need a reason to listen to tons of Down?

This album is going to rock so fucking much, and I'm seeing them in November!

I've been listening to a ton of Chelsea Wolfe lately too. Bit of a departure from usual (ie. not loud as shit guitars), but it's awesome. Super dark, she even gets some proper metal cred for doing a Burzum cover.

I've got a punky tune in my pocket. Along with a few other things.

Topped off by the punkiest of punk, the hardcore-iest of hardcore.

For the last week I have been listening to 'We Wanted to Watch Something We Loved Burn' by Cut Ribbons. I've been waiting for this album for ages and it is different to how I expected it to be, but it is growing on me. This is my favourite song from the album. Seriously, how glorious is this song?

I should probably listen to more upbeat music, I don't think it's particularly good for my mental health.

I like it. Feels like one of the few horn concertos that takes advantages of the low range.

I've never really rated Carly Rae Jepsen. I listened to a few of her not-Call Me Maybe tracks because apparently she's really good and wasn't impressed.

That said, I gave this a go a few weeks ago:

Cannot. Stop. Listening. Too cheerful, too cheesy to not love with all my heart.

I've also been listening to some of the OST of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? which is always nice.

Nice. I will be adding that to my bandcamp collection. As a miserable old git who hasn't found any genre that wasn't around by the late 90's to be of any interest, I was happy to come across synthwave as an exception. This harder darker stuff is right up my street. Thanks.

(Sound of White Noise in general is underrated as shit)

Will probably want to check out Dan Terminus and Perturbator as well, in that case. And really most of the artists on the Hotline Miami soundtracks, honestly. XD

I've got a few bits of the Hyperdimention Neptunia Rebirth 1 soundtrack on recently. It's a game that really should not have been as fun and enjoyable as it was. I've poured 35 hours into it and I already have a New Game+ going. It's a game about the game industry with all the big consoles re-imagined as anime characters girls. I think the main character is supposed to be the Gamecube? All the others are obviously the PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii (Wii being the pissy loli character, naturally) and the only purple console I can think of is the Gamecube.

Anyway this is what's on repeat because god damn are the EXE moves entertaining.

It's called opening a portal to limbo and locking you inside it because fuck you, MAGES. is a time, magic, witch scientist... chick... thing. Honestly it's not very well explained...

Other than that, Prefuse 73...
And this on repeat right now:

Same as usual, Black Sabbath and Bad Company, with a new twist of Milt Buckner.

I recently heard of the band Starset and have been listening to their album Transmissions ever since.

<spoiler=Transmissions>
It is a bit different from what I usually listen to, which makes it refreshing to hear. Personal favourite songs are: Carnivore and My Demons.

I need to get my act together and purchase the new IronMaiden album soon.
Otherwise it's the same old, this month has been mainly about PrettyMaids, Crashdiet, Sabaton and Hammerfall. That's pretty Sweidshoriented now that I look at it :p
