Super Metroid (which I fail at, but I'm making slow but steady progress at), and then I've got Metroid Prime's 1 through 3 on the shelf. I also want to beat aLttP and perhaps gain enough skill to conquer one of SMB or SMB3. I recently bought all of these and I'm yet to finish a single one. They are all (with the exception of Prime 2 and 3, most likely) So friggin' hard. I can't get past bloody world 2 in SMB.3 or World 3 in bloody SMB.
The Getaway. (ever since Unskippable did that video [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/unskippable/520-The-Getaway] with it. "What if I go sky diving?" "YOUR KID DIES!!", etc )
It's a pretty good game, once you know the trick of leaning-on-a-wall healing. I like how you can use both control sticks to drive your car - analog gas pedal FTW!
I've been playing Halo 3 a lot lately. Pretty much because my friend got a 360 recently and was playing with him, now I am just getting sucked into it again. Can't wait for Mythic map pack to come. I've been experimenting with forge
Oh god, there's to many...
I just started playing FEAR today, scary as hell!
CSS, regularly.
Sins of the Solar Empire.
Dungeon Seige 2. Just Finished.
Thats all the one's i deem worth mentioning.
Like the morality system.
Like the graphics.
Combat is fun.
Travelling to different star systems is fun.
Talking to characters is OK.
The codex makes me realise the amount of thought that went into it, so I like that too. (Although I don't think it explains why everyone speaks English.)
Dislikes:
The inventory micro-management (Do I have to carry one of each gun?)
It's a very short game.
Too much dialogue, i think.
I'm half-heartedly re-playing it as a 'bastard git' character.
I'm also re-playing Freespace: The Great War and Freespace 2. Mainly due to the BIG REVEAL in Mass Effect making me think "I've heard this story before, and I liked it better the first time."
The story...
The Reaper's were a BIG let-down, and in my opinion their modus operandi was utterly illogical. Even when it's handwaved that "They're alien - of COURSE it's illogical!" it still made me think, 'Yeah, but one of them SPOKE to me which 'humanises' any character, and another character confirmed that they DO take resources...'
The Shivans from Freespace (who are also nasty superpowered aliens from 'beyond') also had the 'they're alien and incomprehensible' handwave card played. But I found the Shivans were WAY cooler. Mainly because the Shivans are never explained, never speak, and DO act in very odd ways, and a little bit is revealed about them each time rather than one or two big reveals.
There were also the things in Babylon V: Thirdspace which even had their own Mass Relay... Come to think of it, the Shivans got a Mass Relay-type device in Freespace 2...
