Alright, I'll be that guy and ask. What are you playing this weekend?

Me, I'm probably going to hop into EVE, then fire up The Longest Journey to see what all the fuss is about. Provided I don't try to finally beat Vampire: Bloodlines. I'm on the last damn stage!

How about you guys?

I'm gonna try the Prey demo for the 360, then maybe hit the local EB and see what's what. Maybe get me a DS Lite and New Super Mario.

The Ship. I have to put some more time into that to get a review written. I love my job. Shame that I don't make any money. >_<

I actually might boot up ZSNES and start playing Super Metroid again, if I can grab some spare time. I've had an urge to play that lately.

I demand a 30-second review of The Ship. I'm not hearing great things. :(

Tonight I plan on finishing up RE4 with my boyfriend. If there's time this weekend, I might pop in some Yoshi's Island or The Last Express (excellent mid-90's adventure game, I recommend it highly to everyone here).

Chromehounds. I want to finish up the single-player 'training story' before I take it online.

Probably some Animal Crossing DS, Titan Quest, and Xbox Live Arcade too. Maybe some HOMM IV too, if I feel like sinking some real time into it. I'm not liking the elven scenario too much though.

I will possibly only have time to take a look at the latest Lord of the Rings strategy game demo on the XBox360. Although I do not like the setting at all I am really keen on trying out how the controls and the user interface of a RTS work out on a console using a controller.

Probably log a few more hours in Dragon Quest VIII, which somehow I still haven't finished. Will punctuate with some version or other of Tetris or Qix. Certainly plenty of Minesweeper.

I loved Dragon Quest VIII, but I know exactly what you mean. By the time I 'finished' the game, I'd logged over 100 hours into it, and I still hadn't completed everything there was to do. Good luck.

I'm going to be indulging in a bit of WoW (of course), and some Neverwinter Nights (I've been in a mood for it lately).

Really? I've been hearing very good things. I haven't picked it up yet, though.

I'm midway through Oblivion, Dawn of War, Hard Truck: Apocalypse and the original Syndicate (for about the 8th time). I'll probably dump a little time into one of those, though I think I've just about lost interest in Oblivion and DoW. HT:A is surprisingly awesome in a totally campy b-movie way. The English translation and voice acting are just spectacularly awful, easily the worst I've ever seen. It's right up there with "all your base are belong to us." It's almost worth the $20 just to marvel at that.

And then hopefully a little HL2DM with the Gamers With Jobs posse before the weekend is over.

I'm probably going to jump in WoW and EVE a bit. Might also do another quest or two in Oblivion.

And then, back into the studio to compose a theme for Escape Radio. *whipcrack*

I've also, strangely, lost interest in Oblivion. Seems like a lot of work is required to dig out the fun. Could be the "mid-game" hump you often see in RPGs though. Still, it would take a supreme act of will to open up that case again.

Update: well I ended up being too busy working and going to wild parties to get any game playing of consequence done. Alas.

And I'm pretty sure it had absolutely nothing to do with my whipcracking, but Ian seems to have struck gold on the Escape Radio music. I just heard a rough demo and it knocked my freaking socks off. I can't wait for y'all to hear it.

Cheers.

Well, I missed this thread so I've renamed it "What were you playing last weekend?" in my mind. Don't tell me otherwise, because I'll be forced to stick my fingers in my ears and shout "LALALACAN'THEARYOU" despit the fact that it'll achieve nothing in the face of written words.

Anyway, back to the point. I spent most of the weekends play time on the DS, with Advance Wars. There's something altogether yummy about playing the game with a stylus, something that's resulted in me becoming far more hooked on it here than in previous iterations (and in spite of some wonky moments with a mistake of a second tap almost resulting in defeat).

I'm still trying to get the hang of the tag team and super powers aspect, but I've mainly had S rankings up to mission 12 so far, so can't be doing too bad.

I've a raft of stuff on Gamecube and PC that I want to play at the moment, but the first is restricted through just being too tired to play and the second through virtue of the fact that the current heatwave here in the UK is turning my study into a large oven. Someone make it cold and dark again!
