The Soul of Man under Socialism & Selected Critical Prose, by Oscar Wilde.

Almost as good as Johnathen Swift, but lacks the savagery of his 17th-centuary counterpart.

I'm reading Starbook by Ben Okri. It's good, very mystical, feels like a story a witch doctor might tell you. It is a bit of a tough read. I like it, but it doesn't grab me. Before that I read Jpd[/] by Douglas Coupland. I couldn't put that doen, found it really funny and enjoyed the kind of surreal aspect to it. Almost as bizzare as real life.

not reading anything currently. School is occupying so much of my time, but on the weekend I'm picking up a new book.

I actually read quite a lot, and most of the time i'm reading more than one book at the same time. Here's the books that I've recently finished:

Name of the Wind - by Patrick Rothfuss
Sword of truth - by Terry Goodkind
Brisingr - by Christopher Paolini

And a couple more, but they weren't as good.

Done before, see: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/18.78106.965912

Now, I am also technically still reading 'Mostly Harmless' by Douglas Adams, but it's such slow going that I'm not sure I'll ever bring myself to finish it (for anyone who doesn't know, the 'Hitchhiker's Guide' series starts out very good, but deteriorates a bit towards the last books).

A charming little mystery called "Three Bags Full [http://www.amazon.com/Three-Bags-Full-Sheep-Detective/dp/0767927052/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1227628565&sr=8-1]." The detectives in it are sheep trying to figure out who murdered their shepherd.

I'm so glad I didn't have to be the first to say that. That's about all I'm reading, unless you count a few horribly dull psychology textbooks.

I'm about half-way through a book of Shakespeare's poems and sonnets. There's around one-hundred and thirty in there, and they're all pure gold.

In all seriousness though, I just finished A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier and it was very very good. As someone who lives in the overprivileged western world I found it very inspiring how powerful the determination to survive was in such a young boy, and how mature and wise he seemed after having such horrible experiences in his life.

See Spot Run.

Sorry, I meant The Book of Dave by Will Self. Almost finished it, and really looking forward to starting The Man Whose Teeth Were All Exactly Alike by Philip k Dick.

I completely agree with you. I stopped halfway through So Long and Thanks for all the Fish because it was starting to ruin the memory of the first three books.
