Here I think mine would be

Best Shooter: Doom (follow closely by shadow warrior 2)
Best Action game: Quantum Break
Best Stealth game Hitman
Best Hybrid: Deus Ex Mankind Divided
Best RPG: Kingdom come deliverance
Best Graphics: Squadron 42
Best Story: Quantum Break
GOTY 2016: Deus Ex Mankind Divded

As far any possible contenders that haven't been released, I don't subscribe to handing out awards to games that I haven't played, no matter how promising the game may seem.

Assassin's Creed 2017

Yeah, you read that right. 2017. With a seven on the end.

Seems they're not making an AC game for 2016 apparently, but whichever one they release in 2017 is going to be so good that it will retroactively and unanimously declared GOTY for 2016 as well.

I obviously haven't played it yet and know nothing about it but that's not going to stop me from pre-preemptively declaring it mankind's greatest work. The prestigious brand name and amazing amounts of talent involved make it a sure thing!

The reviews I've read make it sound pretty cool, haven't had a chance to watch any gameplay though.... Would like to hear your thoughts on it!

I've been following SUPERHOT [footnote]I just like writing it this way. SUPER! HOT! SUPER! HOT! So weirdly catchy[/footnote] since the original gamejam version, even donated to its Kickstarter[footnote]Only time I've ever done so[/footnote], and while the full game is not an earthshattering revelation, its 'time only moves when you do' schtick is a genuinely refreshing take on time manipulation mechanics.

And most of all, it's fun. Figuring out the quickest, most efficient method of beating a level can be really satisfying. Especially in the endless mode, where after having survived for a long time, I've gotten cold sweat trying to think myself out of some desperate situations. It's also really neat to then see yourself do it at full speed when you eventually die.

The reviews I've read make it sound pretty cool, haven't had a chance to watch any gameplay though.... Would like to hear your thoughts on it!

I feel watching someone else play SUPERHOT doesn't really sell the game. IMO it's one of those games you have to play for yourself.

Most probably a JRPG, since last year it was Tales of Zestiria, it could be Berseria, maybe Nights of Azure or if it doesn't gets hit with Nintendo's censorship, Genei Ibun Roku #FE, Star Ocean 5 looks nice too.

I'm interested in Doom, but it's not GotY material for me.

How can you claim a game you haven't played yet is your GOTY?

Darkest Dungeon (It was in early access for awhile but it officially came out in 2016, so it totally counts) and XCOM 2 so far. I like Fire Emblem Fates but frankly I liked Awakening better. So far anyway.

Waiting on Dark Souls 3 and the western release of SMT IV Final to see how they rank. Looking forward to XO, a game I helped kickstart too.

The only game I've played so far this year is Far Cry: Primal. It should not be anywhere near the title of GOTY. I'm hoping a game like Persona 5 for Senran Kagura is mine later in the year though.

The only game from 2016 I have played is Fire Emblem Fates, and I really didn't like it very much, so I refuse to give it GOTY anything.

So far there are no 2016 games to me.

Anyway, the only game coming out this year that I KNOW I'm going to like is Twilight Princess HD but only because I played through that game on the Gamecube about 2 or 3 years ago. Aside from that, I have no idea. I'm hoping Yo-Kai Watch 2 launches in the US this year since I absolutely LOVED the original and I'm really excited to try Dragon Quest VII on the 3DS once that launches over here. Other than those, I have no idea. I'm gonna get Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze finally since it's about to be cheap...it's a what, 2014 game but it'll be new to me. Then there's the wild card which is Steam. No telling what kind of games will launch there this year.
