Since I haven't gotten my copy of the new NIN yet, I'm going to go with Prog Metal band Headspace, with their album I Am Anonymous. They would fit nicely between Opeth and Rush.

The only album I've gotten this year has been "Tomorrow's Harvest" by Boards of Canada... so... that.
Savages - Silence Yourself, is most definitely my favorite album so far this year.
It's nothing short of incredible that they made something that sounds like this in 2013! It hankers back to the true British Post-Punk of yesteryear, to a point where it feels like it was made in the early 80's.
None of this Post-Punk revival indie nonsense crap that has been around recently, no, just a bunch of young women, making some truly dark, and raw music, just how Post-Punk should be.
If i could describe the album accurately, I would say Early Siouxxie and the Banshees, meets the Noisy New York No-Wave style of Lydia Lunch/Teenage Jesus and the Jerks.
