However, I do get random coloured hairs in my beard and moustache, ranging from light blonde to dark ginger, which I've never understood.

Also I sometimes grow this freaky, 3-4 inch long, almost white, gossamer like single hair from my chest, and the really weird thing is it seems to grow overnight.

Same here. These days, I just describe them as "gray," since that seems to be the median.
