What are your ideas on ways to promote the positives of gaming?

I just read a post in the news forum and it really got me thinking that gaming can have some surprising ways to benefit people. What are some ways we as gamers can help our community? Also, if you have something already that you do what is it? This could be from fundraising, education, politics etc. So be creative and lets see what ideas you all have.

Two words in Gaming Lingo that seem all but lost

"Good Game"

That would solve almost all the problems of the Gaming World. All you have to say is "Good Game", and you don't even have to mean it. If someone responds negatively, don't react to it, then when people see how kind and courteous we are...We can't possibly be blamed for all the killing in the world.

Excellent point in gaming...but what about promotion in the community (outside of the gaming community).

Outline that as controlling a pad or keyboard is clearly a dexterity-improving activity, that skill can help out with being a musician or a surgeon or other steady-hand bsaed careers.

Secondly, argue about how violent or negative games are no different than their film or book equivillent which is why it makes no sense to feel negative about them unless you also think it's a good idea to ban negative films and literature. But is that going to happen? No.
