Okay, i know a lot of people are into FPS Games. I ,myself play CoD at times, but following the new releases of CoD I can't help but notice how repetitive it's all getting. Seriously, when is it going to stop?
I mean, I'm not totally against the game, the single player campaign was decent enough for a few playthroughs and I'm a massive fan of the spec ops and zombie modes, but the multiplayer? It just gets so repetitive. Basically its the same game with a new set of maps and weapons.

So, what do you people think about the continuation of CoD? Both the single player storyline and the online modes? Should it keep going or is it about time they made a change to their ideas?

The single player is fine in my opinion. However, I agree with you on how the multiplayer is repetitive.I still like it although the annoying 10 year olds are very frustrating. There is another problem though, people seem to use sniper rifles and only sniper rifles. They are fun to muck around with in close quarters, but the rest of the guns aren't being used as much. It's all very annoying.

I personally have no problem with it. For the sake of full disclosure, the only game I've played is part of Call of Duty 4. It was ok, but it's not really my sort of game. I think that as long as people are buying and enjoying it then it has every right to continue.

Competitive mulpiplayer is not for me, but I think it looks cool. That's pretty much it.

I've played CoD4 a lot and then just lost interest after that. The games are fun to pick up and play for a little while, but there just isn't that much strategy involved and hardly any teamwork in the multiplayer. I much prefer games that focus on working as a team instead.

I have played three CoD games this generation - World at War, Modern Warfare 2, and Black Ops. For all three, the quality of the single player experience, for me, was as follows - ok, good, painfully mediocre. As for the multiplayer, it's fun. No, it isn't exceptional, but if you're looking for fast-paced, "run & gun", twitchy shooter action that requires little to no thought or strategy, I would say any of the new Call of Duty games would be a fine choice.

I'm not so keen on CoD games. I've tried them but didn't like them which is surprising for me because I love FPS games.

But i'm not going to hurl abuse at it's developers they are only making whats going to sell.

They don't really need to change much. Different story, few new maps and a couple of weapons and the simple fact it's the same as all the other CoD games in every other way doesn't matter. Those few changes will still net them millions.

I enjoy CoD games. I think a great deal of work is done on the level design. "All Gillied Up" is a fantastic mission to play in Modern Warfare. Multiplayer is fun, but you have to remember that CoD itself is split into 2 franchises as the Modern Warfare Series is made by Infinity Ward and Black Ops, World at War etc is made by Treyarch. The multiplayer on Modern Warfare is better than the rest, as it requires a bit more skill (apart from noob tubes) and the I think the maps are better. The multiplayer on Black Ops isn't too bad, but the killstreak rewards aren't as good and the weapons are worse. However modes like gun game are just fun to play.

I enjoyed 2 and 3 very much. The only thing I enjoy now is the occasional zombies match.

Personally couldn't care less about it. Not my kind of game. I've always been more into fantastical sci-fi shooters like Unreal and Halo. Space-guns for the win. :p

COD has some seriously underrated campaigns. Intense, cinematic and fun. Also I love the multiplayer, despite numerous issues.

Now lets all go on ahead and talk about something else, I swear every second there's a new thread about COD.

They are all good games and on the hardest setting they are probably one of the most challenging FPSs out there. The multiplayer suffers for its popularity though...too many crap players make the challenge weaker and the bloody kids that play it are annoying as hell.

When i buy an 18 rated game i expect to be able to play with adults. I expect the company to honour the ratings agreement in it's entirity and not just at point of sale. If this was selling tobacco or alcahol to kids it would be fines and prison galore

Urgh.
I like CoD games, but it's just that it's practically the same game, published 900 times. They just add a few different characters, and polish it a bit, and ta-daah! New game!
And the fanbase. I'm not against most of them, but quite a few people act like CoD is some sort of gift from God and that they should cherish it (Except when the next CoD comes out, then they cherish THAT).
And the biggest peeve of the all: I know this isn't really the game's fault itself, but children of six are not expected to play a game of 18+. The ESRB are pretty soft, but I expect at least half of those under 13 honour this decision, and not kill an online match for everyone else by screaming bloody murder through the mic.
