League of Legends.
This, since I am nowhere close to being a competetive gamer if I have an extra hour and nothing to do I usually launch LoL or then Monster Hunter Tri is also a nice alternative.

Rock Band. It's fun playing a few songs with people then dropping out. I have almost 500 total songs, so I can keep coming back to it.
I've got Guitar Hero with the drum set (I prefer the two cymbals and toms), and I'm slowly working my way up to Expert+ mode but am currently consistent on Hard difficulty. One song at a time, dangit!

FIFA 12 or Magic: the Gathering, depending on my mood. Neither has any narrative to speak of, so I can turn it on, play a match, and be done with it.

These days,I have so many games that I want to play,I'm actually torn between all of them.

-Team Fortress 2 with a friend. We like the game quite a bit,and so we play it together.

-Blacklight Retribution with the same friend. We also like blacklight...Even though the game hates him by throwing bug after inexplicable bug at him. I once saw him slowly advance on a guy in Containment,Domination Node C. He saw on his screen him unloading his LMG in the enemy's back. I heard the gunfire from his mic.

-League of Legends...With the very same friend. He can play pretty much any champ, but I usually rock Warwick or Veigar. I've yet to play PvP.

-Skyrim on my own. I made myself a sneaky bow guy that likes poisons. Modded to the gills.

-Dragon Age: Origins on my own. I've yet to beat the game, even after owning it since launch. It's so long, and I find myself putting the game down for so long that I decide to make a new character.

Seriously. I can play any game for any amount of time. Thank goodness for pause and save.

A mixture of TF2 [usually different gamemodes like Doomsday, King of the Hill, Freak Fortress {A mod that changes the game into a 1 team vs a very powerful boss gamemode} and payload] and after that some Minecraft [mainly MineZ which is a DayZ rip off in Minecraft, but doesn't stop it from being awesome and Hardcore survival]

Football Manager 2012 and Pokemon White. Both games allow me to go at my own pace, or just completely ignore them for a while if need be.

Empire; Total War, mostly. I just boot up a quick battle and utterly crush the poor Easy-mode AI whenever I like. Sometimes, I just want a quick happy-boosting win, and it's nice I can have that alongside actually challenging world conquest.

Also, TF2. Just hop in, do some teamworks for a few rounds, and hop back out. WoW PvP used to fill that role nicely, too, but... C'mon, it's been half a decade, not until it goes free to play.

Such games that are simple pass-time games for me are Frozen Synapse and Binding of Isaac. The sheer number of fun gameplay and randomizing elements for both games are way too replayable for me without sacrificing the finesse of gameplay.

Congrats, dude! Getting over hard mode is probably one of the toughest things to do in a music game.

How do the cymbals work? I've heard that they break pretty easily.

I have the PS3 drum kit, and so far the cymbals have stood up to a fair amount of abuse. I'm sure the main problem is that people bash 'em too hard and it messes up the wire connections. I can play some material at the full Expert+, like some Aerosmith and such, but as soon as I get into more jazzy drumming I get off tempo.

Pokémon Stadium 2. I'd play it more often if the battles weren't so. Damn. SLOW. I get that it's a turn-based game, but come on!

Other than that, Tetris, Super Smash Bros. (Any one of the three), and Bully.
