of course when you set things out like i have they tend to never go to plan, funny how that happens lol.
Heh, all too true man. I had been planning to get my drivers license in February so I could drive to my friends' houses who live out of town every once in a while, and also drive to kickboxing school out of town. I got my G2 in March and still don't have my own car (lousy insurance/gas costs), but at least I'm getting into a kickboxing school in the town where I live (might not be as good as the one I originally wanted to go to though) in June.

I'm going into casual games design, I'm just finishing up the Animation program at MATC and over the summer I'm learning Flash and Ren'py. Also on my website will be a couple of webcomics, and from there I hope to break into screenwriting. I've written a play (a short one-act comedy), and have a working script for a film adaptation of E. L. Konigsburg's Father's Arcane Daughter three-quarters finished, actually.

I have no intention of getting married or having kids. I like kids, but only in moderation, and after witnessing the disaster that was my parents' marriage, several of my friends' parents' marriages, and so on, I'm not interested in that institution. Plus, it's expensive as all hell.

This year: Spread knowledge about the Military Commissions Act and hopefully get a strong movement going by December. Also to be in a band that lasts longer than a month, DM a successful campaign, and make a full length movie.

And, you know, get a job, but that hardly matters.
We are one and the same my friend. I need to finally finish my album! Apart from that I am just looking for a new flat...never been very good at planning ahead.

Finish up my current Vampire: the Requiem chronicle during the summer, get a raise and a new title at work by August, start recruiting players for my up-coming Changeling: the Lost chronicle around September and get engaged by the end of the year.

Beyond that...well, I suppose I'll be busy making wedding plans and such with my current gf until Summer/Autumn 2009.

Ha ha..I think the biggest piece of advice I would give to anyone, particularly those younger than me, is to place a lot of value on whether or not you're going to hate the stuff you're doing/place you sit in for 25% of your week. I've heard this story far too frequently as of late...

I have a semi-serious goal of working to live as long as it takes scientists to find the secret of immortality, or at least something close to it.

Have a gap year, to work + travel to Cuba. Do Sound Engineering at university, then either go freelance, or if possible work for Livenation. If freelance, try and work my way up the live sound industry to big venues (like Earl's Court, Brixton Academy etc.)...that would be so freaking awesome

Considering that you're running the place (at least in theory, being perched at the top), can you not change your job into one you enjoy? If you're in charge you should be able to delegate what you hate and pursue what you like about the job, at least to some degree. From what you said it's going downhill anyway, so branching out and trying new things doesn't seem like much of a risk.

I'm in college at the moment, almost done with my Junior year. After my undergraduate degree, I'm either going to go to a master's degree program, then law school, or directly into law school (depending on finances). From there, I'm aiming to go into the policy side of politics, maybe a think tank, or an adviser. Speech writing is my passion

So I do have a pretty good job right now that I enjoy, but I would like to go back to university (dropped out in my 2nd year) or college and take some business courses. The long term plan (aka dream) is to open up a massage therapy practice with my husband: He'll take care of the treatment aspects (being a massage therapist and all), and I'll run the business end of things.

Problem is actually leaving my current job. I'm on the road to a permanent position, and its REALLY good money.

About to "celebrate" my 2 year anniversary at my first real job.

Short-term goals:
- Solidify an exercise regimen
- Get my hobbies back rolling. (I miss my trombone, and playing with other people)

Long-term Plans:
- Turn this job into something I want to get out of bed for every morning, or find one somewhere else. Not that I hate this job every day, just some days...
- Find a woman to love that loves me back
- Convince said woman, if necessary, that pregnancy is overrated, and adoption is awesome
- Adopt multiple children over the course of the next 20-30 years
- Save enough money before I die to seed a scholarship, hopefully with enough time to be actively involved with selecting the first few. I want to play God with people's lives. I want to sit on high, and judge their adolescent souls.

Straighten out both my head and my spinal column, both of which have had me in one kind of pain or the other for the past two decades. Already a fair way there, just a matter of keeping on keeping on.

Be awesome at my current job without killing myself with overwork.

Build a Green home, probably straw-bale construction, photo-voltaic roof tiles, graywater system. Have two gardens, which I will probably have to hire someone to help me maintain (see spinal column above), one flower, one vegetable.

Save enough money to endow a foundation or trust for...I haven't decided yet. There are so many things I want to help fix on this planet.

Your talk about scholarships reminded me of something. I got this idea from a book. In the HIGHLY unlikely scenario that I have kids (more likely going to a niece or nephew) the first one who completes a full term with an Honorable Discharge in the service or stays in the longest (medical discharges will be sorted out later) gets whatever money I had in my bank account when I die.

Johny is 18 and Jimmy is 16. Johnny enlists and completes a term, then leaves. Jimmy enlists and stays on for 2 or 3 terms. Jimmy gets my money.

No, but it's a word I associate with myself.
As long as it's your choice, nothing wrong with that. And if you do have kids, you'll probably feel differently about inheritance. You'll want to help them all out as much as possible.
