Mr. Iwata has gone on record to apologize to the core demographic for their failure at E3 last year. Nintendo REALLY needs an epic E3 this year in order to stay alive in the eyes of the core gamer. So, what do you lovely people think the Big N will/should announce at E3 this year?

My guess? Star Fox Wii.

Jaaaaaacccckkkkk Shiiiiiittttt

Seriously, Wii Sports/Fit/Music sells better than every single game Nintendo Fans actually, so Nintendo not only WON'T give you what you want, they probably don't like you for wanting it.

They're probably thinking something along the lines of "Why won't these Zelda/Metroid people leave us alone so we can keep making money off of the ignorant masses."

This.

They will probably release info on their upcoming Zelda and mario games in the works, and those would probably be released in 2010. But to most core gamers, just knowing they are coming at least gives us some hope for the future.

I will also guess on either a new franchise, or a new starfox game. Hoping for both.

I actually disagree:

Galaxy came out too recently for another game to be announced (unless of course you mean a spin-off).

Spirit Tracks is already in development. They would not announce another title, unless it combines with the former, a la the Oracles games.

Retro is already working on NPC Metroid Primes 1 and 2, so I doubt that another Metroid would be announced. Although, I heard Retro has something up their sleeve, so I guess we'll see.

That someone will embarrass themselves on stage...
Probably when they announce another Zelda game and from the audience there's just complete and utter silence.

Bitter tears, graphs and an announcement of something like Wii Coma.

I'm hoping for Pikmin 3 and maybe a new platformer; both on the Wii.

Yeah, whereas Microsoft tend to announce BIG changes or awesome new games, Nintendo tend to go for little things that will interest only women and children, if that. It'll probably be some new sort of online chat thing for Miis.

Yeah, since Zelda has never been successful or even popular by any means.

Edit: And by BIG changes and awesome games you mean...?

That's my point...it HAS BEEN successful. You can't keep telling a good story without people getting bored of hearing it.

And by big changes and awesome games I mean, and write this down:
"Big changes...and awesome...games"

You mean like E3 2001, when they announced Wind Waker? That was different, and the core fans thought it was a bad joke. People don't want different. They might say they want change, but the sales of the Big N's tried and true franchises say otherwise.

Ironically, WW went on to be one of the best Zelda titles around.

That is ironic. Still, I think Nintendo is way overdue to re-release one of their old ideas. I know that sounds like I want them to, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Wait...why do I care? I don't even own a Wii...

I'm a realist, I'm expecting to be thoroughly disappointed; by all three big ones.

After last year I'm just hoping Nintendo and MS try to excite a few gamers over the age of 10.
