1. Nintendo does innovate
2. Its only a gimmick if a company doesn't commit to it
3. None of the doom games are all that great
4. DNF was a good game
5. Earth Defense Force Insect Armageddon was inferior to EDF 2017
6. Motion controls work as they mostly require doing little small movements not "waving your arms around"

Most games today are pretty damn good. I obviously don't like every game personally, but truly bad games are remarkably rare. This is mostly because, aside from failing at humour (-cough-DNF-cough-) or failing to provide hyped features (I'm looking at you Molyneux), no AAA studio really releases games with any substantial lack of polish anymore.

People have forgotten what bad games are actually like. Go back and play E.T. (you can play it here: http://www.2600online.com/et.asp), go play Custer's Revenge (NSFW and not safe for your opinion of humanity), go find a copy of Busby 3D or Big Rigs or even Superman 64.

When you say that CoD or Halo are the worst games ever, or even bad games at all, you look like a dumbass with absolutely no gaming experience. These games are masterpieces of polish, even if there are things about them that you don't like.

Alright, let's unleash the fury.

- Dragon Age 2 is a vastly better game than Origins, at least from a technical standpoint on consoles because Origins is damn near unbearable to play with a controller.

- EA is not that evil of a company, they just make stupid mistakes on a semi-consistent basis.

- There need to be more turn-based strategy games with similar set-ups to Final Fantasy Tactics.

- I actually liked FFXIII (minus Hope, who I wanted to punch in the face)

- The Red Faction series started going downhill into the toilet the very second Volition drafted the script for RF2. (This one might require a bit of explanation)

- I hate the Modern Warfare games' multiplayer. There, I said it.

- Brutal Legend wasn't a bad game.

- Bayonetta is, from a gameplay standpoint, a better game then every entry in the Devil May Cry series to date.

- Mirror's Edge was awesome and first person platforming can work if done right.

- I liked the Spyro series, or at the very least the original three games.

- The Black and White series are some of my favorite games of all time.

- Despite my love of the Half-Life series I've never really been that big of a fan of Alyx Vance.

- Even with microtransactions and going free to play TF2 has not been "ruined forever". Now shut the hell up.

- Guild Wars is, to date, still the best MMO I've ever played.

- I think Rockstar is vastly overrated as a developer (yet ironically I loved Red Dead Redemption).

- I've never been bothered by "Project Ten Dollar"

- People who rush to win multiplayer matches in strategy games in the first few minute are playing the game wrong.

- The Kinect isn't a bad thing.

- I've never liked the Resident Evil series.
i agree with most of your points sir, kudos to you.

Loved GTAIV

I dont think it matters if you play games on PC or Console, because you are still playing a game.

I think Call Of Duty is mediocre at best.

I think Halo is an awesome game, but would never try to put it "above" another game.

I believe comparing games is stupid, they each are their own game, if you enjoy playing it then it's a good game.

I almost never pre-order games.(I have made one exception)
When I criticize a game I focus on the good stuff, not the bad.

I like games that have good multiplayer. A good story is great, but if you are going to continue playing that game, you will be playing multiplayer. If i play a single player campaign and it sucks, I try out the multiplayer.

I believe that BOTH Console and PC communities suck. They are filled with people who hate on the other gaming platforms and troll on all kinds of stuff. 10 year olds play xbox. 10 year olds play PC. 10 year olds play ps3.

I enjoyed Lost Planet

I love RPG's but never finish them.

I think people are too jaded with their video games. They get too competetive. Just enjoy yourself, if you lose you lose if you win you win.

I only judge games by how much fun I can have playing them. I wont let something stupid ruin a game for me.

Fallout: New Vegas is the best game ever in almost every respect.
It was? You didn't find the combat dodgy? The companions didn't break the combat? The unique weapons weren't overpowered? Don't get me wrong, I loved NV myself but it isn't the best game ever... ET for the atari 2600 takes that prize.

Anyway:

1: Bioware game all seem to have alot of potential yet Bioware always seems to fuck up somehow

Mass effect spoiler:
Mass effect has a wide variety of various interesting alien races and lore behind each of them, and what does Bioware do with this universe? They make the enemy a bunch of fucking robot cuddlefish from outside the galaxy who plan on wiping out the entire galaxy. Why you ask? We can't hope to understand them. Seriously what the hell? How in the name of Christ does anyone consider this a good story? It sounds like something from a 50s movie...
The only thing Bioware does right in their games are the characters, and even then they airlift the characters personalities from their older games...

2: Valve games are average at very best and take far too long to be produced.

3: I think fallout 3/NV is better then the original fallouts, honestly how can anyone find a 2D isometic game form the 90s better then a full 3D world you're free to explore and has somewhat decent combat compared to the original which had turn-based combat and a totally backwards difficulty curve. Nostalgia much?

There are alot more but I can't be bothered typing them and this is probably more then enough flamebait. :p

I don't mind if a cutscene is 20 minutes long, as long as the writing is good. I don't always like "dark and gritty" but I don't mind it. I don't like indie games because they aren't immersive enough. I don't like online multiplayer and don't like any MMORPG's.

1. Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind=Best game ever
2. Skyrim doesn't look as amazing as it should be (coming from an elder scrolls fanboy)
3. Majora's Mask was the best zelda
4. I like the Kingdom Hearts series
5. If you think Bioware or Bethesda are bad you obviously never played either KOTORs or the first three elder scrolls.
6. FFXII was the best. It was sooo refreshing from the past twelve and I wish they'd make another like it.
7. Speaking of which the Ivalice chronicles are infinitely better than Nova Crysallis
8. I used to be rabid over COD but now that my eyes are opened its just mediocre copy pasting. Though it isn't the devil
9.No games I've played have ever reached they're potential to become an art
10. Competitive multiplayer screwed the gaming world
11. Halo 2 pretty much MADE xbox live
12. Mass Effect 3 will not be good IMO
13. Battlefield 3 will pretty much convert any childish COD fanboy. Which isn't a good thing :/
My 2 cents

1. Valve and Bioware are not God's gift to gaming. Bioware is good, but not perfect. I've just never liked Valve's games aside from Portal and I'm not really a PC gamer so I can't comment on Steam.

2. I am freaking sick and tired of the following things:space marines
regular marines
the zombie apocalypse
post-apocalyptic settings
gray-brown shootersgrimdark

3. I like JRPGs, if done well. I actually believe The Last Remnant had potential: for a JRPG, the combat and leveling systems were quite innovative. But graphics and engine glitches and an utterly cliche storyline held it back.

4. Fable 3 didn't suck, at least.

5. I like Nintendo, no matter what Yahtzee spews about them. You don't have to like every innovation that comes out, but to say that they don't innovate just because they didn't cater their innovation specifically to the "hardcore" honestly does gaming a disservice, IMO.

They really don't. This seems to be less and less an unpopular opinion, though.

We've moved on to immersion. Which means every game ever must be FPS with a silent protagonist and no cutscenes ever!

Oh, my own unpopular gaming opinion? FPS suck. Honestly, you're free to like them, but I hate them. Also, this doesn't impact my "immersion" argument, because my main problem is people misuse "immersion" the way they have misused "innovation" to the point it no longer has any meaning.

I think that the CoD titles are as popular as they are because they are... (drum roll please) actually fun.

Mouse and Keyboard are not as fun too use as a Console controller.

FPS games need to die,and every other genre needs more exposure.
SW:TOR is not WoW with a Star Wars skin.
Worrying over graphics and sound isn't all that ridiculous;gameplay is the most important part of a game, but having a distinct visual style and good music really helps a game.
The Wii isn't a bad console,it's just different, and should be held to a different, although not necessarily lower, set of standards.
Heroes of Newerth is not better than League of Legends.
Portal may not have had any real flaws, and it was a good game, but it wasn't fun enough to call it perfect.

1. I like Uncharted 1 and 2
2. Final Fantasy X is my favorite
3. Halo: Reach is my favorite
4. I still don't see what the big deal is about the Mass Effect games (I think they're fine and all, I just don't get all the praise)
