here at the escapist OR anywhere else
1. I dont give a damn about regenerating health
2. I like dark and gritty
3. cutscenes are not the devil (that is unless they are 5 hours long)
4. generally I think voicless is only ok if you can customize your charachter (yes there are exceptions)
5. the Wii has absolutly nothing to offer ASIDE from the obvious nintendo franchises (metroid prime 3 was amazing)
6. Red faction Gurrela is a good game
7. people who scoff at "dark gritty COD fanboys" in favour of more "colurful" titles can be JUST as obnoxious and annoying using eaquality stupid arguments
letting the tearing apart of people favorites begin
here's how i feel about what you said:
1. I dont give a damn about regenerating health - Only when it makes me feel like a badass/doesn't interrupt the flow of gameplay
2. I like dark and gritty - when it's well-done or intentionally campy
3. cutscenes are not the devil (that is unless they are 5 hours long) - If they're awesome/well-written, then yeah, I agree.
4. generally I think voicless is only ok if you can customize your charachter (yes there are exceptions) - Same. It kind of ruins my immersion when everyone else can talk and for some reason I can't
5. the Wii has absolutly nothing to offer ASIDE from the obvious nintendo franchises (metroid prime 3 was amazing) - agreed.
6. Red faction Gurrela is a good game - could have been... if not for the fucking random events that made you lose a fuckton of morale just because you couldn't drive to the other side of the world to stop a car from going somewhere that was usually a foot away from where they started... if it was just a sandbox game where you get rewards for breaking shit and never needed to care about other people (like Saints Row) then it would be awesome.
7. people who scoff at "dark gritty COD fanboys" in favour of more "colurful" titles can be JUST as obnoxious and annoying using eaquality stupid arguments - i scoff at people who think it's the best thing ever or completely fail to acknowledge that other games even so much as exist.
and as for me own?
GTA 4 had the potential for AWESOMENESS, but was let down by only one thing... the fucking friend management system. Without that (and mandatory in-game races) then i could forgive the horrible car physics, the awkward walking and running animations, the stiff "platforming", the flat textures, blobby-looking people, the lack of checkpoints in LOOONG ASS missions, the lack of ways to heal yourself in mid-firefights, and the muddy, brown and grey visuals
I LOVE EDF Insect Armageddon more than 2017. It was a lot tighter, and the class-based system really helped to shake things up.
Dragon Age 2 is an improvement on Dragon Age: Origins in every possible way. No contest.
Crackdown 2 was equally as good as Crackdown in its own way and DESERVES a sequel.
Prototype was the most fun i've had with a game this decade, and it could only be topped by Saints Row 3 or Prototype 2.
Skyrim with be just as bloated and overrated as Oblivion.
Gears of War 1 was too damn hard for any normal person, and anyone who says otherwise is a dipshit who's never dealt with that linear, confined boss fight where there is no room to maneuver and it can charge and kill both you and your partner in one hit.
Fable 3 is awesome. Even the demo had me playing for hours on end just exploring and enjoying the impressive scenery.
Perfect Dark: Zero wasn't a bad game, it was pretty fun and had a lot of interesting ideas. Only disappointment was in the multiplayer and bot aspect, which didn't have as much customization as Perfect Dark HD did.
Mass Effect 2 was better than Mass Effect 1. It was better written, better acted, had better music, and I could never stop playing once I picked up the controller.
EDIT: Deus Ex sucks so bad I couldn't even play it for an hour without uninstalling it
