1. I dont give a damn about regenerating health

2. I like dark and gritty

3. cutscenes are not the devil (that is unless they are 5 hours long)

4. generally I think voicless is only ok if you can customize your charachter (yes there are exceptions)

5. the Wii has absolutly nothing to offer ASIDE from the obvious nintendo franchises (metroid prime 3 was amazing)

6. Red faction Gurrela is a good game

7. people who scoff at "dark gritty COD fanboys" in favour of more "colurful" titles can be JUST as obnoxious and annoying using eaquality stupid arguments

letting the tearing apart of people favorites begin
here's how i feel about what you said:
1. I dont give a damn about regenerating health - Only when it makes me feel like a badass/doesn't interrupt the flow of gameplay

2. I like dark and gritty - when it's well-done or intentionally campy

3. cutscenes are not the devil (that is unless they are 5 hours long) - If they're awesome/well-written, then yeah, I agree.

4. generally I think voicless is only ok if you can customize your charachter (yes there are exceptions) - Same. It kind of ruins my immersion when everyone else can talk and for some reason I can't

5. the Wii has absolutly nothing to offer ASIDE from the obvious nintendo franchises (metroid prime 3 was amazing) - agreed.

6. Red faction Gurrela is a good game - could have been... if not for the fucking random events that made you lose a fuckton of morale just because you couldn't drive to the other side of the world to stop a car from going somewhere that was usually a foot away from where they started... if it was just a sandbox game where you get rewards for breaking shit and never needed to care about other people (like Saints Row) then it would be awesome.

7. people who scoff at "dark gritty COD fanboys" in favour of more "colurful" titles can be JUST as obnoxious and annoying using eaquality stupid arguments - i scoff at people who think it's the best thing ever or completely fail to acknowledge that other games even so much as exist.

and as for me own?
GTA 4 had the potential for AWESOMENESS, but was let down by only one thing... the fucking friend management system. Without that (and mandatory in-game races) then i could forgive the horrible car physics, the awkward walking and running animations, the stiff "platforming", the flat textures, blobby-looking people, the lack of checkpoints in LOOONG ASS missions, the lack of ways to heal yourself in mid-firefights, and the muddy, brown and grey visuals

I LOVE EDF Insect Armageddon more than 2017. It was a lot tighter, and the class-based system really helped to shake things up.

Dragon Age 2 is an improvement on Dragon Age: Origins in every possible way. No contest.

Crackdown 2 was equally as good as Crackdown in its own way and DESERVES a sequel.

Prototype was the most fun i've had with a game this decade, and it could only be topped by Saints Row 3 or Prototype 2.

Skyrim with be just as bloated and overrated as Oblivion.

Gears of War 1 was too damn hard for any normal person, and anyone who says otherwise is a dipshit who's never dealt with that linear, confined boss fight where there is no room to maneuver and it can charge and kill both you and your partner in one hit.

Fable 3 is awesome. Even the demo had me playing for hours on end just exploring and enjoying the impressive scenery.

Perfect Dark: Zero wasn't a bad game, it was pretty fun and had a lot of interesting ideas. Only disappointment was in the multiplayer and bot aspect, which didn't have as much customization as Perfect Dark HD did.

Mass Effect 2 was better than Mass Effect 1. It was better written, better acted, had better music, and I could never stop playing once I picked up the controller.

EDIT: Deus Ex sucks so bad I couldn't even play it for an hour without uninstalling it

Nintendo is still good at making games, even if their hardware ideas aren't always the best.

The fact that the Zelda games are all basically the same is not a weakness.

EA is not evil for releasing yearly sports titles. They're just doing what works.

When it comes to first person shooters, my main question is "What do I do in this game besides shoot things?" That is why I choose the original Doom over Halo.

Playing as Raiden in MGS2 is awesome (sure Snake may be a more likeable character, but he doesn't do cartwheels).

In gaming, as with most aspects of life, everything was not better "back then," nor is everything better now. It's just different.

1. FFXII was a good game.
2. I like JRPGs.
3. I actually think the WiiU has potential.
4. I'm pretty neutral toward Call of Duty itself. I just don't like the whole "Sell the same thing every year" thing it has going.

That's about all I can think of right now.

Half-Life 2 is shit. Yes, shit and it always was, ever since it came out (actually it was way outdated when it came out - it would be fine maybe in 2001).

Also, Valve is a bunch of greedy dickheads.

And just to pour some more oil into the fire of Valve fanboyism, TF2 is a terrible game. Every single XYZ Fortress (like mods for Quake, HL, Quake II, Quake III, Unreal Tournament etc.) was so much better.
i agree with these almost completely.

no one realizes valve has MORE potential for evil than any other corporation combined because their snarling fanbase would defend valve even if they ate puppies and shat orphans

Golden Eye is not the greatest FPS ever made, and is nothing more to me than a glorified quick time event sequence.
Well taking that logic even further, EVERY game is a glorified QTE sequence.
I suppose you do have a point there, but what I meant was that you can't really aim in the game. YOu just face an enemy and press the fire button to kill him before he kills you.

1. Half Life and Portal aren't that great
2.customization in FPSs is useless
3.Bad Company 2 isn't that great
4.EA is ok
5.I enjoy The Sims
6.Rome Total War was the worst RTS I played
7.TF2 Free to Play is a good thing
8.Project Reality is boring
9.I liked Fable 2
10. I don't want to see anymore Resident Evil, Silent Hill or Final Fantasy

This is my opinion.
I agree on your very first one, and so you understand, people enjoyed the mechanics, not the games, so yeah, I agree, but the large point of this question is what opinion of yours is un-popular, so after 1, the rest you could get at least 100 agreerers for, also, HIGH FIVE on the TF2 ONE!

Most Japanese games, today, are just plain not good or at least not on par with western games. Lots of good intentions and zany ideas but it doesn't add up to an enjoyable game.

The inventory system of Mass Effect 1 was great.
So was being able to to change the type of ammo your guns used whenever you wanted, it was stupid in ME 2 that it was an "ability" that only certain characters could use.
Being able to change your amour and find new armour was cool too.

The Mako was not a chore to drive, it was actually quite easy to use.
Exploring planets on the Mako was also fun, even if all I found were a few mineral deposits. At least I got to travel to another planet and get a nice view as well. ME1 had awesome skyboxes. Seeing the Earth from the moon was also fun.

Not ME related: DLC in general is a very good thing. Being able to get more content for a game I like is great.
Developers abusing DLC and using it as an excuse to release unfinished games and make us pay for the rest of it is not.

My unpopular ones....Off the top of my head:

1) The Wii has been a great console.

2) The Wii has more to offer than it's core franchises.

3) GTA 3 was pretty good. All of the rest are garbage.

4) Catherine is just an overhyped J-dating sim all the way down to picking your answer to suit a girl then playing barely related gaming segments.

5) Gamers are the whiniest people on earth when it comes to movie adaptions of their games.

6) Not every study or action that is "anti-game" is actually an unreasonable one.

7) While gamers say "I prefer graphics over gameplay", this generation of consoles has been the strongest proof that this statement is a lie.

8) Halo 1-3 is similar to the Star War prequels in terms of the fans constantly saying "Well, if you read the supporting novels/comics/other fanbase-oriented data, then the game/movie's story holds up pretty well."

9) Halo 3 was garbage.

And, while not game related, it pops up on the Escapist often enough:

10) I liked the Star Wars prequels.

11)Democrats lie as much as Republicans and are just as destructive to the country. Anyone who thinks otherwise isn't really paying attention.

Square Enix makes the worst JRPG's with the biggest budget.

And I love JRPG's.

And then I stopped caring, this is the same arguement that Valve fans have heard before, OH THIS GAME IS SHIT, OH, THIS MOD IS BETTER, OH THIS, OH THAT, may I get sales for the orange box out of its file, I have many other games there as well, incase I have to back up a studio because people can't come up with a decent complaint. To sum up a long point of reasoning, if Valve were evil, and greedy, they wouldn't make one of their popular shooter free 2 play forever, make games go on ridicoulus sales daily, and wouldn't offer a client that conviently allows for the easy deletion of games, installation and wouldn't question you every 5 minutes if you are the person who should be using this account, along with a very secure network, and a support of indie and F2P mmos. And finally, if you have a complaint, come up with one good thing that could fix your complaint, or else you have no reasoning and sound whiny, I hate modern shooters, so that could be fixed by offering more player choice in the shooter, if you can't offer a good thing about them, then you become Z percentage of a hypocrit, again, if Valve is so much of a greedy nut skull, why is Blizzard not care that my account got hacked, or that I had about 3 months left on my membership before they canceled it, or that their 12 year old game shouldn't HAVE a subscription to it because its so out of date. Now, Valve doesn't charge me monthly to play TF2, so why should Blizzard charge me 60$ every X time even though their game is very old?

While flawed creations, Both Duke Nukem Forever and Metroid Other M were not as horrible as the press and fanboy outcry made them to be

Obsidian games, through Fallout New Vegas showed that the original creative team behind the Fallout franchise can not keep pace with their own universe, and that Fallout is in good hands with Bethesda.

I think that the potential revelation of Tali's face in Mass Effect 3 can be done creatively and with respect to the character and the quarian back story, while still keeping her alive.

It was MechAssault, not Halo 2 that made X Box Live viable.

there needs to be more commercially avaliable A-O Rated games.

I don't think that WoW is that great, Halo is alright at best, the 3DS is a good system, Final Fantasy 7 isn't nearly as great as people make it out to be
