The topic is simple, What Band/Artist do you want to see make a game's soundtrack? for me it would either be Burial, a English ambient house artist, Vampillia, a Japanese 10-part band that calls themselves "The Brutal Orchestra" (look them up) or Chemical Brothers and that's just to start, there a plenty more. So Escapists, what do you think?

I wouldn't mind if Lustmord did something for a really atmospheric horror game.
That's what I was thinking for Burial, if you have heard his stuff you will know exactly what i'm talking about.

The Chemical Brothers could probably do some interesting things.

Personally? I've got two instrumental artists that I've really been getting into, I think they could do some amazing things given the proper outlet.

Having dropped out of The Sims around the same time they started releasing all of the expansions for 2, I did not know that.

Mike Patton could make a hell of a soundtrack for a game too, though.

Apart from the obvious favourites that have made music for games, such as: Kevin Sherwood, Elena Seigman and Akira Yamaoka; etc. But I think I'd probably like Nine Inch Nails (Trent Reznor), Devin Townsend or someone like Yiruma perhaps?

Elvis. You didn't say the artist had to be alive. I honestly want to know what he'd do.

I think Arjen Lucassen (main person behind Ayreon) could make an amazing soundtrack for a game in a sci-fi setting.

I'm sure he already has, but Hans Zimmer because he is a musical genius. Other than that, Coheed and Cambria considering they basically wrote a soundtrack to the graphic novel that the lead singer wrote.

I would like to see the Trance Artist Thomas Datt make a soundtrack for a video game. If he could not do it than I would like to see Gareth Emery do a soundtrack.

I'd like to see Trent Reznor/Nine Inch Nails do another soundtrack. I throw on the Quake soundtrack from time to time when I'm playing other games.

Other than that, I think Explosions in the Sky would make a pretty awesome soundtrack. Maybe Beck too. He wrote all of Sex Bob-omb's songs in Scott Pilgrim so some of his low-fi pop-rock would be rather cool in the right game

I'd like to see a collaboration of Muse and Rammstein.

What, I can dream can't I?

:D
How in the world would such a strange combo sound? o_O

OT: I can't think of a good band/game combo right now so I guess I'll just pair up slayer with little big planet. You know just for the lulz?

I really think Within Temptation should do some, hell some of their songs seem like they already belong in a video game action scene.

Well played. He would probably do something like "Viva New Vegas" (oh god that was painful even for me.)
