zOMG yes the Jeff Wayne thing - YES. The noise the aliens make was far creepier in that version than the crappy WotW film with Tom Cruise in.

Moby. Ah, the memories of driving and having that on full volume.
And there was me thinking everyone hated Moby. Cookie for you.

The earliest thing I remember was Electric Light Orchestra.

Although, I do remember seeing the cassette box art for Pink Floyd's "The Wall", with that screaming face. That's an interesting find when your six years old.

I was raised on Guns's and Roses and Pink Floyd mostly, and then I began taking in heavier stuff from my brother.

Metallica, Tool and Korn were the main things that my Dad listened to while I was really young. I got into nu/alternative metal when I was about 9 and from there I got into heavier stuff progressively until now...

I remember liking things such as Tears for Fears, B-52s and They Might be Giants but I was much more interested in my ZX Spectrum.

I was raised on Queen, Yanni, Savage Garden, Tom Cochrane, Jewel, Sheryl Crow, and Alanis Morissette. The first album I bought was Americana (The Offspring).

*youtubes* Yeap, that's the one. Dang, that brings back some memories.

I also forgot one. Vangelis was played quite often here, a very notable one:
Pretty much the most epic thing I've ever heard in my life.

Several mildly weird things, but the two most prominent were The Beatles and They Might Be Giants. Billy Joel and the Barenaked Ladies were also rather big for me. And I'd be lying if I said late-90's pop music didn't leave an effect on me, since it did with me growing up then and all.

I really want someone to say Cannibal Corpse

I was raised on pop music but I listen to a lot of other stuff now. My parents listen to a lot of different stuff and wanted me to find out music for myself and I'm so glad they did that

Define raised on? I didn't listen to music much until second grade, then I started listening to punk and metal, mostly Powerman 5000 and Bad Religion.

My family didn't really listen to music all that much and the only musician I was exposed to from birth to middle school was Elvis Aron Presley. That's really all the music I remember listening to as a kid.

Then I entered middle school and discovered that other music existed and now I listen to everything.

I was raise with a mother who couldn't stand music for more than 10 minutes, and a dad who liked pop... Fortunately I soo discovered the revelation that is the music genre of ROCK!

So anyway, Moloko, Brother Sister and Alicia Keys off the top of my head...

I was raised musically by 80's MTV stuff. When I was in my late teens I started to break away from mainstream and get into true alt rock, aggressive and math-ier metal, and electronic/instrumental music of all forms, including all video game music. Plus, you know. Gavin Harrison and Jojo Mayer for the now.
