the child thief. best damn book on the planet. so fucking awesome. all i can really say without giving away too much of the story is, it's peter pan, but a shit load more darker. peter goes around stealing children who are run aways for reasons like abusive parents, drugs, molestation etc. because they have nowhere to go, he offers them avalon. a place of wonder and magic. he gains their trust, and gets them to follow him, thinking it's only a game. but once they arrive, they can't really go back. once there, peter trains them to become devils(his tribe name) to fight a war against the flesh eaters(pilgrims from europe heading to america having been twisted by the magic on the island). it's an amazing book and i loved every page of it. i finished it in three days cause i just couldn't put it down

Of Mice and Men.

It is endearing so far.
Steinbeck drives me up a wall
I can't stand his style
I haven't finished it, but I'm feeling cautiously optimistic.
the story is actually enjoyable it's just Steinbeck has a way of boring me into a coma
I had to read 2 or his books for school
that was a crappy month

I'm reading Spirit Gate by Kate Elliott. It's not bad so far.
Though I did just finish Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry Which was pretty cool (Zombies as Bio Weapons, but nothing like RE)

Same, I hated 'Mice and The Pearl

OT: Well, I'm about to start reading "How I made 100 movies in hollywood, and never lost a dime", which is Roger Corman's Auto-biography.

After that I've got "Conquest of Nothing" by Werner Herzog, "The best of smodcast" by Kevin Smith, and a biography on John Carpenter.

Right now, I'm reading Under the Banner of Heaven: A Story of Violent Faith by Jon Krakauer

its about Fundamentalist Mormons and their religion and a murder that some fundamentalist mormons committed.

But since I'm half way through and its not really as big as it looked, I'll be done shortly and I'll be starting on one of my Stephen King books. Maybe Leslie's Story

Hello Escapees, Just wondering what books you guys and girls are reading right now?

I finished off the third Horus Heresy book the other day and decided to take a break from it
I hope you will enjoy the Horus Heresy series. I have all the ones that have come out so far, and I love the series.

I recently finished "The Lies of Locke Lamora" by Scott Lynch. Great book, will have to get the sequel.

I'm reading two indi Australian novels. One is the Riders' War by MA Clarke, the other one is a test read for a novel that comes out mid 2011 called everdark realms. both are super awesome.
