I suppose this thread is done fairly regularly, but it's always a neat time to discuss things that just bring back old memories and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

For me, it's this.
Windwaker was my first Zelda game, which I got from my dad as a present after hearing about it from my friends at school.
Now, I did need the strategy guide to beat the game.
I was a dumb kid.
But just the very of a game being on such a huge scale as this blew me away at the time.

Now, the song fills me with hope and happiness, as well as memories of being that same dumb seven-year-old who was terrified by the Forsaken Fortress.

What things do this for you?
Is it a song?
A game?
An old show?
A long-forgotten toy from your childhood?

Etrian Odyssey III was the first Etrian Odyssey I played, so this always brings back memories.

When it comes to nostalgic tv shows, two shows took the cake. First there was this:

By the way, am I the only one who even REMEMBERS Beetleborgs? I never hear anyone else talk about it, yet I get the impression that it was somewhat popular. Anyways, after Beetleborgs came and went, this happened:

Oh yes, beetleborgs was the shit.

It was quite strange that it wasn't on TV for long, it was a great show, and in retrospect much better than power rangers.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2's two player mode - would while away many a day running tournaments on that with friends when I was a kid.

NiGHTS into Dreams - anythign about that game really. Really takes me back. I never got rid of the game even though I sold my Saturn and I'm quite determined I never will!

Playing around with Worldcraft (the level editor for Half-Life). For all it's rather complicated array of options, I actually think it's easier to work with than the Forge in Halo. I could conjure up some rather neat stuff in Worldcraft, but can't fit two blocks together in Forge! Anyway, it takes me back to simpler times of sitting online downloading countless prefabs to stick in my levels and getting told to log off so someone could use the fun (56k internet connection and only one phone line in the house).

Okay, I suppose I should choose something non-videogaming related, eh?

Anyone else remember Rock 'n' Roll Maze [http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/items/__rock+n+roll+maze_W0QQ_dmdZ2?rvr_id=267063051353&clk_rvr_id=267063051353&crlp=689517475_284591_284611&UA=WVF%3F&GUID=6f2e06fa1320a06c22222232fffea60a&agid=400860955&tm_kw=rock+n+roll+maze&siteid=3&MT_ID=10&tt_encode=raw&keyword=rock+n+roll+maze&geo_id=21&ff4=284591_284611]? :D

Best link I could find in a pinch. I'm not selling, honest!

No way, same here! ^-^ I didn't beat the game until I was fourteen, though. Lolz.

For me, it was this.

It always reminds me of my childhood everytime I hear it. Those were the good, carefree days...

Yay, someone else who remembers it! According to the all-knowing Wikipedia (And TV Tropes) the show ended because they ran out of Japanese stock footage. Power Rangers went on because the Japanese show they took footage from got spin-offs, but whatever show Beetleborgs was taken from...didn't. Or at least, nothing they could keep making Beetleborgs with. =(

Pretty much any GOOD cartoon from the 90s. Seeing Batman: The Animated Series after not having seen it for so long always helps me remember the good old days. That and the voice of TOM the host of Toonami...god I miss Toonami...

I actually didn't beat it until I was eleven, so no problem there.
I loved that sow, too.
It was just so funny, and the characters were genuinely endearing.
Cartoon Network's downfall began with that Godawful show Squirrel Boy, which made little to no sense.
I mean, there were some good shows, like Camp Lazlo and My Gym Partner is a Monkey, but those are long gone now...

I had to go with Legend of Zelda. Few games have had such an emotional effect on me, just due to music.
And for the record Beetleborgs are amazing

Nope, 'course we don't... cry, asshole, cry! =P

OT: Not much really... I get all wistful but never really tear up, and never with games, just a few cartoons I haven't watched in a-hay-ges (Disney, I'm looking at your entire damned cell-animated back-catalogue, well a lot of it, anyway) and not much else... *shrug*

Day[9] talking about his starcraft 1 days. Starcraft was my first video game, and even though I never knew about the pro scene whenever he talks about his experiences it makes me remember mine with my friends.
