I remember distinctly how the Escapist became my homepage; a long time a go in my basement I was trolling the web trying to decide whether I should cough up the money for Prototype or Infamous. Both had been around but I hadn't gotten around to choosing one yet so I googled "Prototype vs, Infamous." And lo and behold the first link was Yahtzee's Prototype vs Infamous challenge. I watched that video, and through that watched more of his reviews. Eventually I started checking out other parts of the site and now I'm here every day. Anybody else remember how they ended up here>

I remember the day vividly.

The escapist was in turmoil, millions were dying everyday, it was terrible.

I watched from the heavens, unable to help my children, the rights of my summoning had not been completed.

When suddenly, a lone poster cried out in desperation, 'Daystar! Save us!'.

And then it was so.

I descended from the heavens, bathed in etheral light, and saved you all.

You're welcome.

T'was a blessed day, though I was not here to experience it. I am young in the ways of the escapist but the elders, keepers of the lore, have told me the story many-a time.

OT: If I recall correctly I stumbled upon a Yahtzee video and then an extra credits video. After a year or two of lurking I finally established an account and the rest, is as they say, history.

You are wise to listen to the stories, young one, lest people repeat the same mistakes.

For next time, I won't be able to save you...

I've faithfully watched Zero Punctuation since it first began on the Escapist, and one day I realized how great some of the forum topics were, so I decided I'd make an account and start posting. After 3 years, I'm very glad I made that decision

I was gleefully procrastinating during an IT lesson and then I found Zero Punctuation. That's about it really.

Oh thank you Amatarasu! Now maybe your next miracle could be making it so that Okami isn't so fucking hard to find on the PS2 or maybe making Okami Den suck less?

But to my answer, i found The Escapist through Wikiquote. I can't remember what specifically it was, but i was trying to look up quotes relating to a video game and Wikiquote wound up directing me to a collection of Zero Punctuation quotes which later lead me to The Escapist. And the rest is stupid history.

I imagine the former could be easily aquired from the internets.

The latter is not within my power, I'm afraid.

Chibiterasu done goofed, and has to fix his own problems.

Actually on the subject of Chibiterasu, who knocked you up? Just how many dog deities are there? Or are you capable of mating with other wolves? Or was it asexual? Or are you and Chibiterasu the same entity, Chibiterasu was just another one of your reincarnations? Or was Capcom hitting the pipe too often during the development again?

If I told you, I'd have to kill you.

Anyway, I think the biggest problem with Okamiden was the hardware. The game just felt too limited by the console, and I imagine if it was made for the 3DS instead, it would have turned out better.

My big issues with Okami Den aside from the plot seeming like kind of an afterthought when they found out the DS was too weak to accept a full port of Okami was the cuteness. Were it to be redone on the 3DS, i would tone down the cuteness.
Alternatively i would travel back in time, find the person who thought "Wolf God Puppy" was a good idea and then peel off his skin and make a funny hat.

Well, you didn't save us all.
You shot my Speckled Jim, for example.

OT: I was linked here, I stayed.
I regret something but not sure what.

I was on the phone with a friend and he told me "Hey, you should check out this series called Zero Punctuation."

So I looked it up, and this was back when there were only like 12 episodes or so. I just watched the Assassin's Creed review, was instantly confused by how fast he was talking (back when I thought Yahtzee was hard to understand, how cute) but overall enjoyed it.

I've been around ever since then. But I didn't start posting on the forums for quite a while after that.

That's a story for another time...

Zero Punctuation, after I seen it referenced on a episode of Linkara's "Atop the Forth Wall" (It was a Frank Miller episode I think.)

I was launched out of a Giant Internet Cannon and landed here. Others weren't so lucky. They were scattered across the lands to places like TVTropes and have been stuck there for eternity.

I was a regular poster on MMORPG.com, but they chose to shut down the R&P section after a few trolls trashed the joint, most of the interesting posters left and few conversations elsewhere were of any particular merit.

So, I went wandering in search of a new group of victims to inflict with my sarcastic opinions and ended up here.
