zero punctuation and i stayed for the community. ZP brought me to explore the forums after commenting on a few videos(if I recall correctly) and then I met some wonderful people and got involved in groups and an RP or two and now I'm here to stay. Muahahahahahahaha

ZP as with just about everyone here, joined up to play those games from the zp game contest and ended up staying on the forums. good thing too, otherwise I would have missed out on a lot of great shows.

Kinda new to this forum thing but wanted to start a topic. So what originally brought you to the Escapist?

For me my friend told me about Zero Punctuation and loved it ever since
Hello and welcome to the Escapist.

OT:
I came here to watch Zero Punctuation and staid for the forums and the issues and articles.
The news is very nice too, keeps me up to speed on current gaming events.

I was reading wikipedia about how the two developers of Infamous and Prototype were given an unofficial competition to determine which one was the better and following the provided link http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/extra-punctuation/6228-Yahtzees-Prototype-vs-InFamous-Challenge I found the escapist!

The guy with the chip on his shoulder and an awesome hat. Oh! and Movie Bob. If I could meet him in public, I'd ask him to sign *these...*

Unforgotten Realms!!! I'm quite sad to see it's no longer a part of The Escapist. That and Apocalypse Lane.

Someone linked Yahtzee's review of DA:O from the Bioware social forums. I watched it, lurked on the forums for a while, then decided that I liked the place and stuck around.

The problem with this website is that it doesn't get a lot of advertising itself; unless someone directly refers you to it - generally to a ZP video - then your chances of ever stumbling across it are small. I'm kind of worried about what'll happen to the site when Yahtzee goes, to be perfectly honest. March Mayhem will be about the only recruiting event that we'll have left. :S

My sister used to love Assassins Creed, like the original, so she looked for reviews and videos and found Yahtzee, showed him to me and that's pretty much how I discovered all the other cool shows on here.

No idea.

It was at or before March of 2009. This was a dark time in my life because I was still playing EVE:Online. I may have been looking for game reviews of F.E.A.R. 2. Or possibly I had Googled "Bioshock" in the hopes of figuring out how the darn trap bolt worked. I'm a Steam user so I was probably looking for game reviews of something that was on sale. Or someone on Steam forums linked to Escapist forums. Or maybe the internet just threw up one day, and when I stepped in it, I slid uncontrollably through the open door, smacked into a low-hanging person, and fell into a big puddle of Escapist.
