This depends heavily on which man you speak of. Some men will change simply to please someone. Some won't change even for torture.

Too true, and a feeling all to familiar to some of us this last year.

OT: "Time", ironically, the concept man best understands.

Pistol round to the balls. That will change the nature of a man to that of a eunuch.

I've played through Planescape: Torment, and I do not like it. I am not a fan of the story, and there is little to be done to convince me that the gameplay alone is worth the time and effort.

Not to say there aren't bright spots, like Tony Jay and Nordom. But even after the Nameless One dies, he still exists. He just goes to the Blood War. Granted that sucks, but it was not a debate between existence and nonexistence, just how he spends his time. And who cares how some D-bag spends eternity if he knows he gets to have one?

You know what takes a heavy sack/tig ol' pair of bitties? Knowing that your life on Earth is all that you ever get, even if your life sucks or you're insignificant on the global scale. That guy who got your promotion by stealing your work? He might not get punished. He might bang your girlfriend instead.

The measure of a person is how she deals with real problems. And yeah, I know that's not the nature of man. Man doesn't have a nature.

Yeah I just finished my most recent playthrough of Planescape torment, possibly the best written RPG videogame ever. (though there are a few I like more just in general)

So the major theme of the game; I must ask.

What can change the nature of a man?
I think change is usually spurred by an event or happening that the person in question has a huge connection to or with. If a man loves rain forests, then sees one burn down in person or ruined in person, he might change. He may become melancholy, or he could become angry...etc. :x
That's not bad, but that would change his attitude, perspective, and manner, but would it really change his nature?
If you seen something you loved torn down or otherwise erased, what do you think?
It's happened a few times, and I would say it's more put me in closer touch with my nature, rather then changed it.
It's subjective. It can go one way or the other, or a million other ways. :)
Just so.

Experiencing for himself the pain his current nature is inflicting upon others.

Or a sufficient amount of money.
