What Changes would you Make for Youtube.com?

I'd like to have the javascript "resumable uploader" actually be able to resume an upload if it fails at any point. When I'm uploading 3GB HD Let's Plays and it flakes out at 90% completion I'd like to be able to pick up where i left off.

I would also like for youtube to release their video encoding software. Not open source, but free. I have to encode my videos anyways, it seems silly to do an XVID encoding then upload it to youtube and have their servers to a server-side youtube flash encoding. If you just let us encode locally the whole upload process would be faster and your servers would save themselves a lot of work.

This might just be a problem for me, but nine times out of ten when I fullscreen a video, the streaming resets, which is obviously annoying.

No video ads, ever. Seriously, fuck them.

The ability to see what post someone quoted, instead of looking back through hundreds of pages to find it.

-Get rid of the stupid licensing rules that prevent people from posting homemade music videos.

I would say make so when someone replies to a comment, the reply is minimized underneath the comment it replying to (like how it is on most blogs/threads) mostly because I hate it when a comment section is filled with pointless arguments that covers up the type of comments I actually want to read.

the few things i would change about youtube go as following:

1. no copyright removels (excuse spelling) or 'unavaliable in this country' or 'XXXXX has banned this in your country'

2. vevo can die slowly and painfully, several times.

3. no banner ads or ad videos, they are so annoying.

4. collapsable comment lists

5. people guilty of: rickrolling/trolling/idiocy should be punished

6. spam videos should be removed

7. a movie database containing films that aren't ancient or rubbish

8. no account suspension on copright grounds

and lastly; 9. FOR GOD' SAKE, MODERATE THE COMMENTS! NO TROLLS OR IDIOTS!

Just use Mozilla Firefox as your browser and get the adblocker + plugin. Gets rid of the ads and problem solved.

I meant the ads that play before the video begins which that doesn't block

Changing the layout of youtube, During earth hour you could turn the White background black and the black layout was Awesome.

If anyone here uses Chrome, there's an extension that can do that for almost any videos. Lemme look for it.

Also, I'd get rid of rating comments, then there'll be a lot less "X people are X" and "thumbs up for X" ones, plus all the other comments that are obviously just trying to be the highest rated.

It blocks them for me, I haven't seen a YT ad since the day I installed the plugin.

Some do only block banner ads but AB plus gets the video ones to.

Remember how the main page DIDN'T have recommended vids or the 'popular' section. Yea, that is the layout I want. Mostly because the recommended videos are horribly inaccurate and what is generally popular on youtube sucks.

I would fire the full-retard in charge of the site's design. Every change makes it progressively messier and more obtuse to use.

I now have a bunch of uploads and likes and subscriptions for the people I'm subscribed to that fills the whole fucking page. All you need is a box that has a little drop-down box in the corner that lets you see most recent uploads from everyone, or from a specific sub.

That's close to what they used to have, now its all over the fucking place.

Revert it to the stars rating system, make the bloody annoying bar at the bottom optional, change the comments list to the way it was a few months ago, make it stop asking me to link a google account, make the subscribed channels' videos appear correctly in the homepage list and then lock any format editing by google whatsoever.

You can disable it changing in options.
