I was accepted at U of I (As in Illinois) for Electrical Engineering (3rd in US, 1st public in engineering) but since I don't want to make my mother cosign a $25000 loan I'll be diving at UIC (U of Illinois Chicago) next year while studying Biomedical Engineering.
OMG!! I HAS A FRIEND AT UIC!!!

OT: I debated between U of I Chicago, Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, Southern Illinois University @ Edwardsville AND Carbondale, before finally deciding on Southern Illinois University Edwardsville where I'll be majoring in History and have a minor in French.

I'm a senior in high school in the middle of Test Hell, and since this website is frequented by fairly young people (as far as I can tell), I was curious what people's plans are for college or where they are currently.

I'm going to Dartmouth, but I was really tempted by MIT.
What exactly does "tempted" by MIT mean? I have always considered MIT as a school you don't get "tempted" by, you go if you're accepted because it's such a damn good school, and the only barrier is acceptance, which barely anyone can achieve.

Anyway, I'm entering RIT's (Rochester Institute of Technology) Video Game Design and Development major this fall, I'm really excited, their labs consist of Alienware desktops connected to Elite Xbox 360's, connected to two flatscreen displays.

*looks around* eh, all the Ohio State guys on this forum( if there are any) are probably busy getting drunk instead of sitting on a forum.

Ohwell. Hi, I'm attending Ohio State. It is pretty awesome here.
I'm sorry, but the entire state of Ohio is just terrible. All of it.
dude, what the fuck?

You're new here, so you might not know, but trolling isn't cool.
This guy only has 15 posts, he's obviously new and doesn't know the rules. He will soon enough if this post gets him a probation, my opinion is that it was a rude enough post to report, just report and move on.

Sophomore at Amherst College right now, double-majoring in History and German; which is great, since the school has a direct exchange with a German university. Helluva nice place, loads better than that Williams place in the middle of nowhere.

I hoped and I hoped and I hoped to go out of state.. and I'm not. So, I'm going to Arizona State University, for graphic design, because it's just a thirty minute drive away.

All college wants to do is eat my money. =(

I would like to attend La Crosse (Wisconsin, US) University after next (my senior/last) year in high school. Possibly Madison or Whitewater as well.

I did the community college thing to, saved a lot of money. Better to spend 1200 bucks a semester there than 5k at a big public uni.
And, big universities force freshmen and sophomores to live on campus, even when off campus housing could be cheaper. Then there are the "meal plans" which are also a scam. Illinois State had this fun little thing called "major blocking" that keeps students from taking any classes in a major that they may or may not be interested. Then they try to kick you out for not "entering into a major." This leaves room for lots of sneaky tactics like delaying applications, scheduling mandatory department meetings before you can transfer in, making up fake nontransferable classes and making them mandatory, and just flat out denying people for no reason. They do all of this with millions of taxpayer dollars that they just can't seem to keep track of.
Yeah I'm pretty cynical after a four years of college, unless you know exactly what you are going for in your freshmen year your pretty much stuck going an extra semester or year. Its a scam designed to keep you there and paying lol. Crap like for business you need math 1530(stats) but if you decide you want to focus on finance instead of management you need 1630(stats using microsoft excel for a few things) its like that with every freaking major everytime someone switches its almost guaranteed to make them have to take some freshman intro class(that they will get an A in) just to meet the department requirements. Poor freshmen and sophomores. I had to do that with political science, I was taking 300-400 level courses but found out I needed 102 to actually get into the major. It was retarded to go from something like an in depth study of the supreme court, and judicial policymaking to "whats the highest court in the US" type of crap.

Anyways rant over lol.

University of Montana. Pretty ok place, too many hippies for my taste. One of the best business schools outside of the Ivy League though.

Studying geology at Tromsø University in Norway. I will be starting on the last year of my undergraduate degree next fall, and after that I'll probably apply to Memorial University, Newfoundland, Canada, for graduate studies.

Either A&M or University of Texas at Austin.

Ironically, the schools are huge rivals of each other, but they're both pretty cool.

A music university, but I'm not sure which one.

Maybe Berklee, but I'm going to have to wait for that until I'm actually skilled.
