MIT apparently is not that hard to get in to(from High School) so long as you are passionate about what you are going to be studying.
Son, that's one of the most difficult schools to get in to in the entire world. As per MIT's Fall 09 enrollment stats, they had a grand total of 10,384 [2] undergraduates, while they had over 15k applicants for their 2013 graduating class. Additionally, "
...As a result [economic downturn], the acceptance rate plummeted to a record-low 10.2 percent, a substantial decrease from the Class of 2012?s 11.6 percent acceptance rate. Waitlist spots were offered to 454 applicants." [1]
So, if you still think it's easy to get in to, then good luck; I hope you're one of the lucky 10% of applicants who get in.
OT - I started at a tech school in Madison, then went to UWSP, then to Long Beach CC, and now I'm finishing at UWGB with a double-emphasis BA in Communications: Public Relations & Electronic Media.
