What companies do you actually refuse to buy from?

There are a few companies I'll hugely hesitate to buy from. Part of it is due to not wanting another crappy product that injects countless hours of frustration into my life. Part of it is just not wanting to give a company that has sold me crap more of my money. Ultimately, if they can prove that they're actually capable of making something good, I'll change my mind, though. And, I won't go out of my way to convince other people of my opinions. I'll tell them my experience, but leave it at that.

Anyway, my "shit list":

- HP
- Acer
- Microsoft

Honestly, that's about it.

Not buying a game from a company you hate isn't stupid. Giving them money, when they have given you reason not to trust them. Now thats stupid.

Activision, Ubisoft, and EA have all made my do not buy list. Any game maker who decides they would make a great distributor can do without me as a customer.

Never had any problems with Microsoft... very shocked you have things against them as they are one of the major innovators or at least funders of innovation when it comes to technology and without Windows... well you could kiss most of the games and their evolutions that have happened these past 20 years... good bye.

Dell... dell uses substandard parts.

Currently Blizzard because of all the things that they're doing to there winning franchises. EA is close to being on that list for discontinuing Rock Band 3 not even a year after release. Activision for the most part simply because supporting them is like supporting the end of good gaming. Ubisoft with the exception of Splinter Cell. Any game by Obsidian unless i can find it cheap and used. Gearbox/3D Realms with how much they dropped the ball on DNF. Eden Games/Atari for the utter monstrosity that is Alone in the Dark.

None really come to mind. Yea, there are companies I don't like, but I still judge their products on their own merits. The people who work hard for a living shouldn't suffer because they work for douches.

I buy games, not companies. If game is good, it gets my money, if game is bad I don't buy it. End of story. I don't boycott games, its useless and stupid.

Also Epic Games for being so coy about whether or not they will ban people who managed to get a leaked copy of the game and spoil other people, hell theyre comment was "they MIGHT be banned". Either do it or stfu because if its all talk then your company deserves to fall apart

I'm afraid you're overcomplicating things there, this should be the normal method for purchases:

Product gives you satisfaction - Buy it

Product does not give you satisfaction - Don't buy it

Unless the production companies are completely morally bankrupt and are opposing human or animal rights, I see no reason not to buy the product if it makes you happy

OT: I don't boycott anyone by the way

Well then, suspended?

Even though I hate how EA tries to squeeze out every cent out of my being, I only truly hate them.

But they are the publisher, not the developer, mostly. So as long as they stick to EA Sports and leave the awesomeness to everyone else, I'm cool with them.

Activision: Because they're money grabbing corporate fucks who have publicly admitted that they're only in it for the money.

Also, their games suck. I wonder why...

Apple, but that's mostly because buying anything from them would probably mean going without food, and I don't think any of their products are THAT good. ^_^

If you want Little Big Planet but don't want to support Sony, buy it preowned! that way you can get the game *and* piss them off!
Personally I buy things that I want. I don't see much reason in depriving myself of something that I want just to shake my fist at a company.
