For me, I have all three for specific purposes:

Wii: The Family-Friendly console that is good for family get-togethers and for any friends that are not a fan of violence. I hate that it does not have a lot of good games, or 720p resolution, and motion controls... fuck I hate this system

Xbox 360: Shooters and perhaps the rare exclusive that blows my mind (Alan Wake). The controller is perfect for playing FPSs. And the XBLA indie titles are AMAZING

PS3: RPGs and everything else. This is my preferred console. The exclusives are fantastic. I love to immerse myself in God of War, Uncharted, Resistance, 3D Dot Game Heroes ETC.

I only own a seldom played Wii and nothing else. However, I prefer PC gaming, which is why I invested in my beloved Asus rather than an XBox 360 or PS3.

EDIT: As for portable consoles, I own a 3DS along with a DSiXL.

along with my PC anything more seems excessive..I don't need to play every game in existance (though gears of war looks cool)

I have the 360, PS3, Wii, PSP and DS. The PS3 was for the whole family, but it has ended up being my brothers.

I also refuse to get a 360. You think a 360 control is perfect for shooters? Learn2mouse&keyboard
OH MAH GAWD A MEMBER OF THE PC MASTER RACE! *bows down in awe*

I mean yeah, you can definitely be more accurate and precise with a mouse and keyboard, that's the point. Everyone who has ever played a shooter on the mouse and keyboard would know this. :p

Hehe, I think the OP meant that among the current gen consoles the 360 controller feels the most comfortable for shooters, and I would agree. I've tried playing an fps on the PS3, but it just felt a bit weird for me. It also made me realize that I have literally no shooters for my PS2, which probably emphasized the weirdness for me. The triggers of the 360 controller just feel more comfy for me when it comes to shooters. :D

I currently own a 360 and a DS Lite as far as consoles go. Although, I have been looking at getting a PS3 because the upcoming exclusives for it look really good.

Outside of talking about handhelds, all of them except the Vita.

Just the PS3 and I love that big black fatty, I got it a few months after launch, and it's been running like a champ ever since.

Define own. I have a PS3, PC and a Wii in my room. Then my family has a 360 in the living room that I rarely use.

My PC is for games that control better with a mouse (like most shooters and first person games) and a few indie games, and my PS3 is for everything else. Lastly the Wii is for Wii games.

The only thing I used the 360 for is Guitar Hero with my family, it's mostly my dad's console.

Nothing, no current handhelds or consoles and the most powerful piece of hardware I own is a GameCube, my PC is completely worthless as far as gaming goes since it has almost no memory space and can't run most things a PS2 would run, so yeah, pretty much all current gen games I have played, I played on my my PS3 that died around 3-4 years ago or in my friend's 360, so yeah I mostly stick to old console games, I mostly play my SNES and GBA though.

Was thinking of buying a PS3 for a little bit but when it came down to it I can't really think of any games on it worth playing...unless that rumored syphon filter sequel happened.

And was really close to buying a Wii just for Donkey Kong buuut I haven't given into scratching that itch yet; but we'll see how I hold up once Ray Man "2" comes out.

Sarcasm, it's not for everyone.
Back on topic, do smartphones count as current gen consoles?
That won't stop me from using it inappropriately! :D Plus, I just thought you sounded a bit rude with your nospaceswithnumberstalk. You can make a point without sounding condescending about it. >:3 Although I understand that, that can be difficult since this is The Escapist and all.

I think smartphones should count as a gaming device for sure, but as to whether it can be categorized for "console" is up for debate. I think it shouldn't be considered a console since it isn't what I would consider a dedicated gaming device. :3

In the that case smartphones can be categorized as a "console" I have one too. :3

I own a Wii and a PS3 personally, although I haven?t touched the Wii since 2009. So I'm just PS3 all the way now. I mainly bought it for the exclusives like Ratchet & Clank and the idea of Halo and Multiplayer never intrigued me enough to buy an Xbox. Plus a buddy of mine had his whole opinion of consoles sullied with his time with a Xbox 360.
Break once shame on you, break on me again shame on me, break on me for the fifth time and you can get the fuck out. Pretty much his reckoning.
PC? I procrastinate enough from doing my artwork, I don?t really need another little distraction hovering around my desktop.

A PC because why not, and a PS3 because I refuse to buy a poorly built console that breaks down if a magnitude 1.0 earthquake occurs in the middle of the Arctic Sea.
