I'm mostly a PC gamer, but I did buy an xbox360 about 2 years ago.

Want to know what game I bought it for?

FABLE II

You may all hate on me as much as you want =D I found that came to be ridiculously fun though. And now I have other games for the xbox, although I haven't played with it recently because of reasons.

PS3 baby.

I had to play Red Dead Redemption. Did not want to fork over a monthly subscription to play online (seriously, fuck that, I don't care how inexpensive it is, subscriptions suck monkey cock). Now I have a bit of a collection of PS3 games.

PC's still where it's at though.

A better question may have been, "which ones still work?" I've had an xbox 360... I've had several. None that lasted much longer than the warranty though. I don't currently have a 360, I've given up believing microsoft may release a quality product ever.

I've had a couple of PS3. I'll give it to Sony... the ps3 will outlive it's warranty. Just not by very much. Well, the second one I bought hasn't bricked yet... so I have not given up on sony just yet. But after the crappy and worthless hardware that was the ps and ps2... I don't have much hope for it.

I have a Wii. I bought it a few months after release. It still works perfectly. Exactly the same as every Nintendo console I've ever purchased... they all still work. In my opinion the Wii the best hardware of this gen because as much as I game... lasting more than a year is a pretty good feature. I just wish there were more good games.

Put together a gaming pc a while back. But those require more maintenance and ongoing expense than consoles, and while some games are way better on the PC... there are games that are better played on a console.

For most of this generation I've owned a PS3 and nothing else. Last year however I decided, quite on impulse really, to buy a 360. I've had both ever since. The 360 is a good console overall but I still much prefer the PS3.

My primary is PC, I got a 360 on launch because I loved my original Xbox to death (it still lives!). I bought a PS3 about 7 months ago because I got a great deal on it/ for the exclusives. The 360 and PS3 are really for the exclusives now, my PC takes 98% of my gaming time. I also own a PSP, but I've done very little gaming, I mainly use it as a poor man's kindle and ipod.

Honestly, this is probably the last generation I buy a console, I really regret buying my PS3 (partially due to dying on me during my Christmas break and Sony taking like 6 weeks to get it back to me), the buy in price for exclusives is way too much.

I'm the opposite of the OP

I play PS3 for shooters (mostly Killzone 3 and Resistance 2) because of the free online and I have a 360 for RPGs becuase those are mostly single player. Well, that and the exclusives for both consoles.

I also play old games on my PC becuase it isn't really built for gaming.

I have a wii.
I find games regularly which I enjoy, didn't play last year anything and just a bit before that due to some circumstances and a few weeks ago I started doing some research and found about 12 games from late 2009 that seem interesting enough to play, just got Monster Hunter tri and quite enjoying it. Haven't tried the online thing yet so still got much to do.

I have a Wii and a DS. I've bought a couple dozen games for both over the years, not counting the NES, SNES and N64 games off of the Wii virtual store.

A PS3 and a 360. I used to own a Wii but not many games really appealed to me so I got rid of it.

Does an iPhone count as well?

A 360 and a Wii. I barely touched the Wii at first, but after my 360 RROD'd I had nothing else. I'm thinking of dusting it off for an RE4 marathon (got a slim 360 now).

I have a Wii, a 360 and a 3DS.

The Wii is actually a family machine, and I don't play it that much.

The 360 is in my room in the Forces. I play it when I am at my home station/unit, but I am often away... which is why I have the 3DS! I have 27 games for it, mostly RPGs as they have the most play time! (And I love RPGs of course!)

I have my laptop too, but it struggles to play even some older games! It's not that old, but it acts like a chunky windows 95 desktop on that time of the month if I enable videos in SW KOTOR2... :/ So I tend to stick to older games than that!

Wii - my $300 paperweight. (although it does have good games, just not many new ones)

Xbox 360 - exclusives and console specific multi-platform games

PS3 - exclusives only (bar a couple of rare cases)

3DS - Nintendo strikes again.. although being backwards compatible is cool, and theres some decent games on the way, thankfully.

A powerful PC (if that counts) - Everything else (which is most things really)

Xbox 360, which I bought since a friend had one.
PS3, which I bought when I realised it's superiority. Hardly touched my 360 for the past three years.
