I'm curious... what sort of things did or do you have to hide from your parents while living under their roof?

For me? It was Doom 64. I was twelve or so when I got it, and had to keep it hidden between my mattress and box-spring because my mother thought it was bad for my mind.

Also, I was pretty young then, but Guns N' Roses were my musical obsession when I was a kid. I had to hide my tapes and CDs from Mom because all the songs were about getting drunk, fighting, and having sex.

Your turn.

Never had to hide anything i guess, when i was 16-17 i did admitedly hide occasional booze for a party i'd be going to etc. I think with a drinking age of 18, thats when most people will do that.

By the way, is the drinking age across all of America 21, or is it different state to state?

Just my terrible grades, which only worked until the report card came around again... Besides that my parents let me do/have anything I wanted (within reason, but I never really wanted anything unreasonable)

For embarresment sake I also hid my "dirty" magazines, not that they wouldn't have let me keep them... I just really didn't want to have to talk to them about that stuff...

Baring porn nothing my parents were suprisingly liberal growing up nothing was really out off bars rather than saying "don't drink its bad for you" they taugh me how to drink properly/responsibly and not die from a hangover, rather than saying "no drugs" they let me make up my own mind. Nor did I have any bullshit churches or sundays schools etc, violent movies were okay as were games looking back I was rather lucky actually.

I know that whenever i used to borrow something, i would have to hide it from my mother since she didn't want me borrowing people's things.

Bad report cards, and in my house that meant any grade below a B. C's and D's were punishable by grounding and F's earned you corporal punishment. So four times a year I would earn a month without video games and if I was really having it bad, I'd get belted to boot.

Only once did I manage to come home with an unmarred report card. 1 A and 5 B's. I was told that this was still not good enough, but at least I didn't get grounded.
geez, talk about academic pressure... please don't go shooting up schools. especially not mine, I kindof like it.
OT: I usually don't tell them about games I buy because they keep nagging about it. not that they get really mad or anything, they just get annoying and say I'm spending too much. same goes for other purchases. except if it's really big like a new console or a guitar or something, can't hide that anyway.

That I smoked until I came clean 2 weeks after lying to them. They kinda said they trusted me and then I lied to their faces about not smoking so my conscious paid its annual visit and made me confess.

Oh and that I've skipped school the last 2 days.

Pretty much same here. But then again grades in high school don't really matter that much, and in the end I never flunked any of the subjects anyways. And my parents were pretty much aware of my extreme hate of Latin...

And your parents didn't pick up on that particular smokey smell? You were sure lucky.

Oh yeah, i much prefer stumbling drunk backwards than being in a backwards nation. Makes me wonder though, who are the best drinkers as in italy the drinking age is 16 yet they don't see all that impressive :D

How are you canadians when it comes to drink?

(to avoid mass off topicness, token hiden thing)
I also hid the fact i was a teenager therefore was jerking it like my life depended on it.

The cigars my friend bought me. I'm only 18, my parents are incredibly strict on smoking, and rightly so I guess. Their household, their rules.

I am hiding my mum's christmas presents :p

But, to be honest, nothing. The stuff I do hide is either really private (personal letters, bank statements etc) or I just "hide" it for no reason.
